Cultured Kinfolk
The AfroLatina Music Show (TAMS) amplifies the Global Latin & African Diaspora music scene via featuring artists, djs, parties, and beyond. TAMS will pay homage to the pioneers and innovators of indie, hip-hop, dembow, reggaetón, afrobeat, latin jazz, bachata, to baile funk. TAMS is hosted by Janet Luz Sackey, a Dominican-Ghanaian New Yorker who grew up dancing to Aventura, rocking out to Carlos Santana, and vibing out to Ebo Taylor. She owns Cultured Kinfolk LLC, a Black & Latinx cultural + music gift shop.
#BDR Profile | GinJan: The African cafe of our Dreams
According to a Brit + Co report, an average Millennial (25-34)spends around $2,008 on coffee a year. Now, that may not reflect your spending habits but now think where did purchase your coffee… Just imagine if you spent half of that in a black-owned cafe rather than Starbucks.  Many black-owned cafes are popping up around the nation. Philly has @UncleBobbies, Oakland has @RedBayCoffee, and New York has @Serengeti, and now the recently open @GinJanCafe. I sat down with one of the owners of @GinJanCafe Mohammed Diallo to chat about their inspiration to create Ginjan.
