Fear is a necessary human response to danger, but it is a poor architect for a life. Mark does not promise disciples a storm-free existence. The boat is swamped, experienced fishermen are terrified, and Jesus appears asleep. The story asks who we trust—and who we are becoming—when fear has evidence on its side.
