
Juanita Pastrana is a Freelance Designer and Community Manager, working with various startups and companies throughout Colombia, her birth country. She earned her BFA in Advertising and Branding and went straight into the industry, working as an Art Director for Havas Chicago. She’s worked with big clients such as Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Orbitz, National Association of Realtors, Autozone and the Hispanic Heritage Month. She then moved back to Colombia amid the pandemic, where she began working as Head of Marketing for Go Elegido, a ride sharing app startup. She’s now a full-on freelancer and entrepreneur, with an exciting new business offer that we will hear about really soon in the future. She is also the recipient of a Red Dot Award for Design Excellence for the mock commercial we created together for Sonnet Insurance called “What’s The Best That Could Happen?” Juanita and I won a bunch of other awards together, as we teamed up throughout college and our first internships. Max Acevedo or Maximiliano for those who don’t know him, is currently a Senior Product Designer at Devbridge. He has worked for companies like GE Transportation and HP. He has a degree in Industrial Design and a Master's in Design Management. Max helps research and develop complex design systems that resolve various urban, digital, and physical problems. Honestly, he knows about this a lot more than I do, and that’s why I am so excited to have him here today. He’s also the Co-Founder of Two Under, a golf clothing company that sponsors young ambassadors of the sports. It’s not surprising, taking into account his professional Golfing experience.
