End of Season One: The Most Popular Episodes So Far
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 55: During this episode, I reflect on my podcast journey so far as we wrap up season one. Hear me talk about the most listened to episodes, favourite topics I’ve recorded and potential changes for the podcast to make the podcast sustainable. I also share why I am taking a break before starting season two and my plans for the future of this podcast. Favorite Episodes to Record [02:53] One of my favourite episodes was the Q&A Session. I love receiving your questions and exploring topics suggested by you as they broaden the podcast. [05:08] I also enjoyed recording the Expansions Messages, where I channel messages that I receive during my personal practice. The episode on overcoming perfectionism and the metaphor of the rose is particularly impactful.   Most Popular Episodes [07:30] One of the most listened to episodes is when we feel like giving up using a simple metaphor of music to help you come back to the life within. [09:03] Another episode is the insights gained from my experience as an NLP coach and episodes about my background.   Message of Gratitude & Plan for Season 2 [10:20] Thank you for listening to this incredible podcast and for your feedback. You have been an invaluable part of this journey. [11:12] Suggested changes to introduce interviews and a subscription model for future episodes to make the podcast sustainable. I've been funding the podcast myself and hope to make it self-supporting in the future. [12:31] I'll be taking a break before we kick off season two in the spring to reflect on the direction of the podcast and make informed decisions about its future. I believe in the importance of taking moments to pause, reflect, and grow inwardly in a society that often prioritizes constant productivity.    Key Takeaways When we feel like giving up, when we feel like everything is too much, the metaphor of the music can help us come back to the life within. If we want to create balance between the masculine and feminine energies, we need to have those moments of pause & reflection too.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. How I Learnt To Trust Men Again After Trauma
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 54: During this episode, you’ll learn about my deeply personal journey of healing and learning to trust men again after an abusive relationship. This journey has been filled with self-discovery, healing, and growth. I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can inspire and help others who may be going through similar situations to seek help, trust again, and create meaningful relationships.   Trauma [01:45] My experience in an emotionally and psychologically abusive relationship years ago and how it felt like a death experience. [02:40] Healing from trauma, betrayal, and feeling completely unsafe around men.   Seeking Professional Help [04:00] Seeking help from various professionals, including shamanic healers, hypnotherapists, somatic coaches, and NLP trainers, to help me uncover the root causes of my fears and work on feeling safe within myself. [05:06] Finding solace and healing in 5 Rhythms dance classes and workshops, which played a significant role in my healing process.   Lessons [06:23] Listening to my Intuition and setting boundaries with one of the most breakthrough moments is when I was able to receive a massage from two male therapists, something I wouldn't have been able to do in the past. [11:00] Finding a balance between my masculine and feminine energies. The journey is not about being against men but about understanding and healing. [12:09] Looking beyond words and actions in relationships and understanding the underlying intentions and needs of both myself and others   The Transformative Power of Trauma [14:59] Fear is not a bad thing. It’s a natural response that serves as a protective instinct. [16:13] Having gone through the trauma has deepened my understanding of my clients and their struggles, and I can help them wake up to the magic of life, too.   Key Takeaways It’s not about being the victim. It’s about learning to really trust ourselves and listen to our intuition. Often, there's a tendency to think that, as women, we need only to be feminine and that we can't be masculine, but building up my masculine energy in a healthy way has been incredibly healing. It is about the two together. Fear is not a bad thing. Fear can be healthy and can help protect us. When fear is in flow, that's our intuition sensing that something doesn't quite feel right; pay attention to that and take action.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. Your Biggest Lesson to Learn According to Your Core Energy Number
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 53: During this episode, you’ll learn about the sacred science of numbers. Everyone holds a core energy number. How do you calculate your core number, and what does it mean? In this episode, I dive into the meaning of different core numbers, the strengths and weaknesses of each, and the biggest lessons that each type needs to learn in life.   The Sacred Science of Numbers [01:09] Everybody has a number in life from 1 – 9 (unless if a master number), which shows the core energy you hold. Your strengths, weaknesses, and greatest lessons you are here to learn. [01:57] To uncover your core-essence number, you need to add your date of birth… day, month and year together, then keep reducing them to a single digit unless it is a master number.   The Independent Leader, Peace Maker & Creative [05:26] Number 1 represents the independent leader. They are natural-born leaders with great leadership skills and self-motivation. However, one of their greatest weaknesses is a desire for control and impatience. They have to believe in themselves and lead the way forward. [07:30] Number 2 is the peacemaker who always aims to bring harmony but tends to be hypersensitive and indecisive. Number 2’s biggest lesson is to let go of people-pleasing. [09:00] Number 3 is creative and a great communicator though when out of balance also critical and unreliable. Their biggest lesson is to find out their truth and express it.   Society Builders, Freedom Seekers & Responsible Caregiver [10:06] Number 4’s are practical, grounded society builders, but also inflexible, stubborn, and narrow-minded when not in alignment. They need to open up their mindset and see the bigger picture. [11:24] Number 5 represents resourceful and charismatic freedom seekers. However, their biggest weakness is recklessness and unpredictable behavior. They need to learn that freedom comes from within. [12:20] Number 6 main strength is love and compassion, with a weakness in being bossy and interfering at time. They tend to over give and are here to learn about balance.   Truth Seekers, Business-Minded Leaders & the Humanitarian [13:10] Number 7’s are the truth seekers. They are intelligent with a deeper spiritual connection though on the downside can be skeptical, introverted and pessimistic when out of alignment. [14:35] Number 8 represents the business-minded leader. They are very entrepreneurial, though when out of balance can be manipulative and materialistic. [16:06] Number 9 represents the humanitarian. They are growth-minded and global thinkers, though have a tendency to be at times defensive and revengeful when not in alignment.   Key Takeaways The deepest peace and the most fulfilling peace is when you are at peace within yourself. Self-expression is one of the most essential things for health and happiness. Freedom comes from within.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. Why Ignoring Negative Self-Talk Isn’t The Answer… & What To Do Instead
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 52: During this episode, you’ll learn why ignoring your inner critic isn’t the answer.  The inner critic, that negative self-talk is the part of us that likes to judge and blame ourselves. What’s the best way to acknowledge it, learn from it, and step out of it? In the session, I delve into the impact of negative self-talk, how our inner child reflects our inner critic and tips to move away from negative self-criticism. NOTE: This episode includes a live recording which may contain some background sounds.   Negative Self Talk [02:50] Sometimes, you may believe you’re not worthy or deserving, which is what negative self-talk focuses on… the lack and limited perspective of yourself. [05:28] With negative self-talk, you focus on the story, believe it, and live according to it, forgetting you can rewrite it.   How Your Inner Critic Reflects Your Inner Child [05:50] The inner critic brings to your awareness limiting beliefs you picked up in your childhood. Essentially, you repeat your childhood beliefs or what you heard someone else say to you. [10:44] Acknowledge the inner critic as a teacher. It’s simply the inner child wanting to communicate something from the past.   Tips to Move Away from Negative Self-Criticism [12:05] Ask yourself, “What’s really true?” Is it really true what you think about yourself? [13:02] Embrace the de-identification pattern. Ask yourself, “Aren’t I more than that?” You are far greater than any negative self-talk.   Key Takeaways ●      The inner critic is the inner child bringing your attention to your limiting beliefs, fears, and emotions. When you ignore the inner critic, you ignore the inner child. You can find more information when you pay attention. ●      Often, how you criticise yourself is similar to how your parents criticised you, and how you praise yourself is similar to how your parents praised you. ●      Sometimes, the focus can be limited, and you are just focusing on one thing that you perceive as a problem, and by focusing on that, you miss out on everything else.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. Expansions Message: Overcoming Perfectionism and Accepting Yourself
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 51: During this episode, you’ll learn about the power of self-acceptance and perfectionism. In today’s expansion message, I delve into a wonderful image of the rose & what it teaches us. Just like a rose is made of different petals, life is like a puzzle, and when you get fixated on what you don’t like or your weaknesses, you miss out on the whole experience of life. Open up to who you are, you don’t have to be perfect!   The Rose Metaphor [04:05] Every petal in a rose makes its form, and every form is part of its growth. When you focus on one part only in life, you open up to misinterpretations and only half of the experience. Choose to see the bigger picture, and things fall into place. [05:24] When you are fixated on things you don’t like about yourself you forget everything else beyond that. Expand your perspective to experience whole life experience not the limited experience.   Perfectionism [06:08] Perfectionism has this sense of controlling things and having them perfect but avoiding anything challenging, you miss the full experience which makes the rose. [07:15] The metaphor of Sagrada Familia (famous building in Barcelona) despite being under construction for so many years and still incomplete, it’s a popular tourist attraction.   Self-Acceptance [08:58] Shift your perspective on perfectionism. Life is made of different puzzles and when we focus on one little piece that we don’t like, we miss out on the full experience of who we truly are. [10:21] Take a step back, identify what you don’t like and choose to open up more to self-acceptance.   Key Takeaways ●      You don’t need to have everything perfect. You don’t need to have everything complete. ●      Open up to accepting what it is, who you are now and focus on yourself rather than surface level character traits.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. Celebratory 50th Episode Q&A Session... Answering Your Questions!
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 50: During this episode, we celebrate 50 episodes of this podcast with some great questions from my listeners that I answer. In this Q & A session, I share a definition on what unconditional love is, how to love your partner or loved ones from the Soul, tips for navigating breakups, as well as how childhood experiences impact adult relationships.   Defining Unconditional Love [04:18] Conditional love is when we give or receive love through the eyes of the Ego, thinking certain things have to happen or feel a certain way in order to love. [05:31] Unconditional love is when you see the bigger picture rather than being caught up in the limitations and emotions. Open up and see that deeper thread that connects everything, loving through that rather than the eyes of Ego identity. [08:43] Healthy boundaries are important. It’s not a matter of being completely open and unconditionally loving all the time.   Navigating Breakups [11:10] Breakups are painful to go through, and having a support circle is key. Share what you’re going through, and let your circle check up on you when you don’t feel like reaching out. [13:02] Acknowledge the emotions that come up during the breakup and find a creative outlet, for instance, releasing it on paper and burning it, singing it and also creating a “No-contact” period with your ex-partner.   How Childhood Experiences Impact Your Relationships [20:11] Much of what you experience in your childhood affects your relationship because you have this blueprint that mirrors back as you move through life. [22:02] Identify your hidden limiting beliefs, let them go through NLP, coaching, or therapy, and rewrite your story. This will have a knock on effect on your relationships.   Key Takeaways ●      We have an Ego for a reason. It helps us to take action and remember who we are, but what is not helpful is when we are allowing it to be in control. ●      Breakups are challenging to go through. It can be painful, but also a great learning experience and a huge point of transformation. ●      How you talk about things has a knock on effect on how you feel about things.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. 3 Common Misconceptions About NLP
3 Common Misconceptions about NLP Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 49: During this episode, you’ll learn about three common misconceptions about NLP.  Sometimes, there are misunderstandings about NLP and it can be labeled incorrectly. Today, I share a broad definition of NLP, different ways that it is used, the true essence of NLP, and break down three common misconceptions about NLP.   What is NLP? [02:15] NLP stands for Neuro-linguistic programming. It’s all to do with the unconscious filters in your mind (beliefs, values and metaprograms), linguistics (how we talk to ourselves / others) and programming (tools and techniques in NLP that can program the unconscious mind). [06:10] NLP is often used in politics, business, breakthrough coaching and peak performance coaching. [07:41] You can also use NLP to heal the inner child, overcome challenges from the past, any self-sabotaging behavior and fall back in love with yourself.   Three Misconceptions about NLP [10:52] One common misconception about NLP is that it is manipulative because it is used in sales and politics, but it’s not NLP itself. It’s dependent on the individual and how they use it. [12:57] Coaching. There is so much more to NLP and many therapists, professionals and coaches have done NLP training practitioner training for additional structure and techniques, especially to work with the unconscious mind. [14:01] People think NLP is all about sales. It’s widely used in the business world, though it’s not the only way it is used. It can be used in a holistic sense and help people create a little more care and tenderness with themselves.   Practical Tips [14:16] Watch my YouTube live replay on common misconceptions about NLP https://www.youtube.com/live/pTe7FHJufWQ?feature=share [15:15] Use NLP to uncover who you are. It’s not about becoming a new person, but remembering who you truly are.   Key Takeaways ●      There is so much to explore and learn by using NLP, using that curious mindset and tapping into that curiosity. ●      You can destroy a house with a hammer or construct a house with a hammer. It’s not the hammer that’s the problem. It’s the intention of who is using the hammer and how they choose to use it.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. The Impact We Have on Others and Why it Matters
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford!     EPISODE 48: Sometimes you may think your actions are insignificant, when you have no idea how far into the future, they can impact others. In today’s episode, I dive into the impact of our words and actions on others, communicating with love and kindness, as well as practical tips on creating a positive impact on others.   The Impact we Have on Others [01:12] Sometimes, we think our actions are insignificant, but we don’t know their impact on those around us. [03:16] My personal experience in helping someone with performance anxiety at an NLP meetup without any idea of its future impact until years later.   Impact of Words / Actions [05:26] What you say to other people can have a big impact on them and even though you aren't responsible for everything people receive, communicate kindly or with love. [08:26] Everything you do, no matter how insignificant it seems, can have a knock-on effect on those around you.   Practical Tip [10:34] Take a moment and think about how others have impacted you with their words or actions or how you have impacted others. How do you show up now? [11:09] We are always creating an impact, but the level of impact and the quality of impact is your choice.   Key Takeaways ●      You have no idea how far into the future your actions and words can benefit people, whether positive or negative. Communicate with love and kindness. ●      You are always creating an impact, and the quality of impact is your choice.   To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. Five Simple Things That Transform My Life BIG Time
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford! EPISODE 47: During this episode, you’ll learn about five things that have a big impact on my life. Listen as I share about how paying attention to the senses while traveling is a wonderful way to ground, the gift of nature and its healing properties, as well as dance as a way of removing any stuck emotions within. Also, I share how limiting alcohol and caffeine created a huge impact on anxiety levels and how NLP helped me break free of starting the day with my mobile. Paying Attention to my Senses [01:37] Paying attention to what I see, hear or feel while traveling. [03:29] Noticing the sensation of your feet within your shoes and bringing the attention back to that is a great way to ground after a long flight. Nature and Movement [04:38] Nature has a healing property that’s beneficial for our health and well-being. [05:24] Moving the body is a wonderful way to release any stuck emotions within. Find what works for you. Reducing Alcohol and Caffeine [07:55] Although I occasionally enjoy chocolate, green tea, black tea and decaf coffee, cutting out on alcohol & caffeine has reduced anxiety levels significantly. [08:22] Cutting out alcohol was massive as it negatively impacted my wealth-well-being and I felt I wasn’t present within my body when I consumed it. Phone Free Mornings [09:44] The unconscious mind is first influenced when you wake up. I don’t want to program my unconscious mind with online news and negative stories first thing in the morning. [10:42] Using the Swish pattern technique from NLP helped me shift into a new positive habit and start the day with presence. Key Takeaways ● Moving our body is a wonderful way to get our body out of the head and allow that motion to flow through us rather than remain stuck within us. ● You don’t need to go from 0 to 100. Keep it simple. Pick one thing & notice what changes. To learn more, check out my website and monthly newsletter at www.emmabradford.net and join the Telegram community https://t.me/CreatingChange. Live Recording: Real, Authentic Living and Listening to the Internal Wisdom Within
Welcome to another episode of Creating Change with Emma Bradford! EPISODE 46: For the first time on this Podcast, I share an audio clip from a live class with my graduate students sharing my experience overcoming an emotionally and psychologically abusive relationship, learning to connect from the soul, and living soul-led life rather than listening solely to the mind. Also, I share about building a loving and supportive community and practical tips for stepping into a soul-led life! Connecting to the Soul rather Than the Mind [02:32] My experience with emotional and physiological abuse was the final spark of change that led me to creating change and living a life that my soul wants, not what the mind wants. [03:05] Although society focuses much on the mind and achievements, find your truth. What feels good for you and how do you want to live? Building a Supportive Community [04:53] Connect with friends and start building a community to see who wants to live in alignment with nature and not against nature. [07:04] Live in a community that’s loving and supportive of each other rather than a society that wants to judge, shame, blame and create division. Practical Tip [08:33] Notice what fears and excuses come up from the mind and notice what’s underneath the deeper message of what your heart and soul want to experience in life. [09:13] For one-on-one sessions contact me… [email protected] Key Takeaways ● Life is a gift, and it’s very precious. It goes by very quickly, and now is the time to pay attention to that little voice within. ● Find your community that’s loving and supportive of each other rather than a society that wants to judge, shame, blame and create division.
