This episode is an exploration into two vital forces that shape us; light and food. How do these things affect us? How much are we aware of what we consume and what comes out of us through this consumption? This and so much more is in todays podcast episode with my amazing friend and guest Megan.Megan is a naturopath, mentor, herbalist, yoga teacher, access bars facilitator, and lover of the earth. I am so grateful to know such a wellspring of a human and can't wait to have her back on the podcast. You can find her on instagram @sunsetmoonwellness and at sunsetmoonwellnesscenter.com

This episode was recorded back in April. I had written a substack piece called "The Motherless(.com) Epidemic" (link below) where I spoke about what happens when we are a parentless society, or a society that has no real teachers and people to show you a good way to be. It was in response to the news that a porn site called motherless.com had a subgroup where men were drugging their wives and r*ping them in their sleep and filming it for people to watch. The substack post intrigued todays guest Jake, who had reached out to say how he appreciated what I was able to conclude and elegantly write about. He asked how I was able to come to the conclusion I did and from there we spoke about narcissism, war, and the pain that is in the world and what we can do with it to transform it. We ate delicious food and dove into topics that are pretty taboo, but might be some of the most important ones to talk about. https://open.substack.com/pub/samantharedonda/p/the-motherlesscom-epidemic?r=qldxv&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=webTo connect to Jake and see all the beautiful food he creates! https://www.instagram.com/insporetaste9

Everything we’re looking for unveils itself from within when we stop running outwardly and turn away from the divine within us. Everything unveils itself when we turn within. When we stay staring at what is only ours. And then beauty comes pouring out. Love comes pouring out from within.

The elements are the foundations of all of life. They are constant. They are unchanging so to speak. They exist as they are and in their specific circumstances. They are a reminder for us to see the fundamentals of all that is happening. In all of our human confusions, the elements bring clarity. They are our rock so to speak. Our guiding light. When we are lost, they remind us of the path. In this weeks podcast episode, my partner Ben sits with the fire and shares what he finds in its teachings.

Why do we sometimes avoid the mirror? Why are we sometimes obsessed with it? What do we see when we look at our own reflection? And what if the mirror could be a key player in seeing the truth of who we are and becoming who we wish to be? I’m thinking mirror mirror on the wall type shit. But seriously, if we see ourselves, if we own ourselves, and take on the full responsibility of BEING ourselves, what then?Come with me on the journey to loving ourselves fully and in turn loving the world.

What is death? It is not a permanent removal or extermination of something. Look at a pebble. Does it ever disappear? Or get smaller and larger and transform into more or less of itself. Everything that has ever been will continue to exist, but it will also transform. So what does death look like for us? It looks like reprieve from who you thought you had to be. It looks like reprieve from living a false life. Death is reprieve from who you are not. Death is not your end, but your transformation. That’s what this episode is about.

I have not felt the desire to work, to profit, to grind, or to be a girl boss. I have felt the desire to sleep, dream, be warm, eat with great intention, sing, sleep, gather (but not too often), and mend. Seasons are natural. The sun is weaker, I am weaker so as to hear my heart and what she’s learned. This is a podcast episode about giving us permission to rest in a society that is concerned only with economic growth at an unnatural level. I speak about other teachings from plants as well. I love you. Thank you for being here.

This episode was recorded while spending time in nature with an oak leaf. I explore many ideas, one being who we exist for, why we exist, how we communicate, what things actually are and how we perceive it to be. It is a beautiful episode that begs us to ask the question of who we are doing things for.

I have been off of social media for a whopping two whole days, and it’s as if a veil has been lifted. If we think of what social media is, it is to participate in social networking. That means we are participating in a networking that does not truly exist in real time, but the past or someone else’s current present, but not necessarily our own present. It is designed by people who study how the human mind works to keep you on it for as long as possible, and it is a means of consumption; constant consumption. Where is the room to digest if we are all consuming? Where is the room to ask yourself in a sea of other who you are and how you feel? I ask these questions and more in this short 16 minute episode.

Come on an adventure with me into the the unknown. I believe we need to get lost from time to time. If things are familiar all the time, we don't have a chance to see something different. Another way to be, or speak or live. Are we doing things that are familiar because we were taught to? Is the familiar who we really are? Who were we before conditioning? Could getting lost get us in touch with that?
