Hour 4 (09.30) Timmy woke up to flydubai FZ1073, Dubai to Tel Aviv: the copilot allegedly stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar and tried to put the jet in the ground. It dropped about 14,000 feet in a blink; the wounded captain got the door open, passengers rushed the deck, spare pilots landed it in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Everybody lived. Timmy says that cabin spent a lifetime of luck — El Al or nothing into Israel — and one passenger claims he learned to land a plane off TV. Where were the air marshals?  

Prop 40’s billionaire tax is on the ballot in weeks; Gavin Newsom and Xavier Becerra are among those opposed. Newsom wants a national wealth tax instead. The top 1% already bankrolls about 38% of the state budget; if they leave, the hit lands on everyone else, with talk of 3.5 million losing healthcare if the money vanishes.  

And Newsom signed two bills: tougher penalties for copper theft, and cocktails-to-go extended through 2029. Timmy’s still asking who needs a lid on a bar drink when you’ve had six years to mix one at home.
