Stanford scientists have developed a game-changing tiny implant placed behind the retina that’s restoring vision for blind patients — with most people in clinical trials seeing significant improvement. 

Andy breaks down the nasty fallout from the massive Linear Logistics cold-storage warehouse fire in Boyle Heights, where 85 million pounds of rotting food has triggered a full-blown rat explosion, sending the vermin migrating through the stinky neighborhood in search of new meals.  

Andy then sits down with legendary actor and environmentalist Ed Begley Jr. and his daughter Hayden Begley to talk about their upcoming father-daughter production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Proof” at the El Portal Theatre (July 23–26), which holds special meaning as it marks the 10th anniversary of Ed’s Parkinson’s diagnosis. The pair also chat about their two upcoming movies together — “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off” and “Strange, But Perfect” — while Ed expresses pride that LA’s smog levels are dramatically better than they were back in the ’70s.
