Bat rabies is back in the headlines after an 11-year-old boy in Canada tragically died after waking up with a bat on his face — he was bitten but the family didn’t realize it until rabies symptoms appeared weeks later. An HOA in San Diego is telling residents to take down their American flags or face a $100 fine, uh-oh. Timmy C dug up a wild old recording from the mid- ’70s filming of “The Apple Dumpling Gang” where his dad Tim Conway and Don Knotts dressed as dancehall girls in tutus and stockings — the local cowboys were not amused by the actors in drag.  

In yearbook drama, a New Jersey middle school accidentally included an infant photo of Adolf Hitler in this year’s edition. On a brighter note, Jon’s Flags & Poles in Riverside — a nearly 60-year-old shop making custom American flags — is gearing up for America’s 250th birthday this weekend. New rules mean you can now get ticketed for “daylighting” by parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, while new homeowners in Apple Valley discovered skeletal remains buried in their backyard, and an old Long Beach car lot has been transformed into the popular PCH Food Park with a lineup of food trucks.
