“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck.” — Matthew 18:6In part two, we go deeper into the father’s call: to protect, to provide, and to lead his family toward heaven. Advent and Christmas show us a God who humbled Himself—who chose to come down to our level, to become small, and ultimately to give His life for us. Christ’s meekness and humility weren’t weakness - they were strength under control. This episode reflects on why fathers matter so deeply in the home. Our presence shapes our children’s sense of safety, identity, and faith. Being there, day in and day out; forms hearts in ways we may never fully see. Fathers are called to be anchors, examples, and guardians of the little lives entrusted to them.We also challenge dads to follow Christ’s example: to humble themselves, to get down on their children’s level, to enter their world through play, imagination, and quality time. And at the same time, to become integrated men: able to be childlike while also standing firm as leaders in the home. Like St. Joseph, we’re invited into quiet courage, steady sacrifice, and faithful shepherding of our families. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. “Unless you become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 18:3Advent and Christmas remind us that God didn’t come to us with power and spectacle. He came down low, as a child. In this episode, we reflect on what that teaches us as fathers and parents: the call to humble ourselves, to meet our children where they are, and to lead through presence and love. Being childlike doesn’t mean being careless or weak; it means entering their world, engaging their imagination, playing with them, and serving them well. At the same time, we’re called to hold the line, guide, correct, and lead with wisdom. Strong fatherhood lives in that balance. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. In this episode, we reflect on a talk given as part of the St. Michael’s Speaker Series, exploring what it truly means when Jesus says He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. If Christ is the destination, then the Catholic faith is not a barrier—but the vehicle that leads us to Him.Drawing from Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, this conversation looks at how faith moves us from shadows into light, from partial truths into fullness, and from confusion into clarity. It’s an invitation to step out, see more clearly, and walk toward the Truth Himself. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. “The family rests on the foundation of the father.” — St. John Paul IIKids don’t measure love in toys, vacations, or accomplishments. What they remember most is time — that dad was there, full time. In this episode, we reflect on the role of fathers as the priest of the home, looking to St. Joseph as a model of quiet strength, guidance, and presence. Fatherhood isn’t about doing everything perfectly, but about showing up, day after day, in the moments that shape our children forever. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. “He who does not progress, loses ground.” — St. Gregory the GreatWe’re not called to perfection, we’re called to progress. And that progress happens in the trenches: through effort, failure, learning, and trying again. In this episode, we talk about what it means to be a work in progress. To give yourself grace. To try something new. To grow as you go. You don’t need all the answers to move forward. You just need the courage to keep going. The point isn’t to arrive right away, it’s to stay in motion, keepin it pushing - forward. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. “Prayer is the raising of one’s mind and heart to God.” — St. John DamascenePrayer doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need the perfect words or a special place to start—sometimes, all it takes is a simple “Thank you, Lord” or “Thank you, Jesus.” That’s enough. Over time, that gratitude builds into conversation, then relationship. Before you know it, you’re praying through the day, maybe even becoming a Rosary warrior. The point is to begin. Keep it simple. Stay consistent. Let God meet you there. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. “If you do not deny yourself, you make yourself soft, and unfit for the spiritual journey.” — Saint AugustineLent is a season of fasting, but it’s about more than just giving something up—it’s about strengthening our will. Self-denial isn’t deprivation; it’s discipline. The more we say no to ourselves, the easier it becomes to say no to the distractions, temptations, and comforts that pull us away from what truly matters. Whether in faith, life, or even sports, fasting teaches us mastery over our desires, making room for something greater. This one is dedicated to all my Catholic men and Warriors alike. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” — Martin Luther King Jr.In this episode, we explore what it truly means to choose faith over fear. Letting go of control and trusting God’s plan can feel like stepping into the unknown, but faith is the anchor that keeps us grounded. From a Catholic perspective to lessons in life, sports, and beyond, faith teaches us to embrace the mystery and take the next step, even when the path ahead isn’t clear. As always, thank you for tuning into Conversations with Chance Mutuku. Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.’ Be resourceful. And whilst this may seem to be blindly optimistic – it is in fact, extremely practical advice. There are plentiful examples of those who have used what is within their means, utilising time, creativity and an intense acceptance for reality, in order to create and achieve. They let go of any dependencies they had and understood that opportunities are missed due to inaction… inaction results from waiting for ideal conditions’. Work with what you Have!
