In this episode we go over making our goals measurable, specific, attainable and realistic. New Year's Resolutions are silly unless we look at ourselves like a business and that we have the control to decide how our year will play out. We must set goals with plans and not just dreams, build some buy in with ourselves. To learn more, visit:https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-shaft/Listen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/david-shaft/

It's Never Too Early Or Late To Invest
In this episode we talk about how it is never too late to think about retirement. There is no certain income that you need to make in order to retire as a millionaire. It is about the sacrifices we are willing to make on the way and what decisions we make. It is important to work with financial individuals who care for the person first and getting the business second. Understand why we want to reach a certain level of wealth and what that means for the rest of our life. The sooner the better, but it's never too late either. The important part is to START.Aaron Oskey is the CEO and lead Advisor for Lakeview Financial Consultants. A Partnership Starts With You
In this episode we begin our partnership series. Before we start looking for partners and mentors we have to know what our values are. It is hard to find a mentor to model ourselves after if we are unsure of what is truly important to us. In order for us to build relationships we have to know what we are looking for out of life and what is important to us which takes self reflection, an open heart as well as an open mind. In this episode I give examples of my own beliefs and what they meant to me when deciding my network  and relationships. I finish the episode by giving tips on how to discover what you value and why.To learn more, visit:https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-shaft/Listen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/david-shaft/

Are You Committed?
This episode is about the value of commitment. In this episode I talk about how to be successful with anything we have to be fully committed to it. Life is not worth living if we are not fully committed to living it. We only need a ton of backup plans or options if we are not fully invested in our current plans. The goal needs to be to go all the way just like the predecessors before us and those who hopefully come after. To learn more, visit:https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-shaft/Listen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/david-shaft/

The Tortoise and The Hare
"A lead (new client/customer) is like an ice cream cone on a hot summer day in the state of Texas." People are not going to wait for you to help them and if you do not someone else will. Too often are we treating people like they have to wait on our time before we will help them when at the end of the day anything worth doing is to provide a fantastic service. When someone reaches out they need help NOW and they need the assurance that they are a priority NOW not later. If you get someone's attention you can keep it forever.  To learn more, visit:https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-shaft/Listen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/david-shaft/
