Professor Maura Dykstra is a professor of history at the California Institute of Technology. She is an historian of late imperial Chinese history in which she obtained her PhD. from UCLA. She has held fellowships at East China Normal University in Shanghai, the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History, the Center for Chinese Studies at the National Library of Taipei, Harvard University, and the University of Tokyo. Dr. Norman is a postgraduate researcher in the lab of professors Richard Anderson and Mikhail Shapiro at the California Institute of Technology. He did his baccalaureate education in mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of Utah. He was also an NSF graduate research fellow studying human-robot interactions.
