Discussions of an over the hill father dealing with the nest being empty. Once again, I give you an unfiltered look at my thoughts and ideas. Along with a requiem for my own father and the day I lost him.

I figured that because I was lonely and frustrated and had so many things I couldn't "solve", that pulling out the recorder and talking to you would at least get some things out. Well, they came out - the result is an episode recorded over 2 days, and 3 sessions. Each session attempting to explain the one before. Day one started with me attempting to provide a little more background about Episode 7. Things went where they went. The final session attempts to pull the whole thing together and that is the part you will hear first. Fair warning - you will hear a lot of ME in this episode, good bad and ugly. Buckle the fuck up and push play.

The traffic was bad, so I talk your ear off on putting effort into your passions. There is a ton of talk about stringing lacrosse sticks. And eventually the conversation turns into me ranting about how and why money can corrupt your passions.  It is something we hear a lot - and don't always follow - hard work = success.

What starts as a normal discussion of flaws in general turns into me revealing the lowest point in my life. It is ok to be flawed, we are all works in progress. Following up on last weeks "Impacts" - showing how they often go hand and hand. In this episode, I walk you through my walk through the darkness. Revealing some not so pretty parts of my character.

During another drive to work, I wax somewhat poetic on the importance of making an impact. Right along with an extreme example of what can happen if you pass on your chance to make one.

As I drive, I layout some of the things I believe are important for parents of athletes.

Having had money, then being unemployed and almost completely bust - I wound up giving my son the "gift of poverty". As I drive home from work, I break down why this may have been the best thing in the world for him.

This started as just the history of LaxSeeds - but as I started talking, I realized that without the context of my journey to lacrosse - it lacked punch. So, I walk you through my family's journey to and through lacrosse. towards the end, it got a bit emotional. As I started to talk about LaxSeeds I was a bit overwhelmed. So, now I'm looking at this as part 1.

In my very first episode, I tackle a institution that owns Sundays, attracts fanatical, dangerous followers and brings in billions of dollars a year. No, not the church - I'm talk the NFL. I break down a summary of the evils that have been done in its name. And why pulling your money is the only way to force them to change.

In this episode, I explain what this podcast aims to be, and what to expect. My first two planned episodes I feel are wildly different from one another - so didn't want anyone to think that every episode will be like one or the other. I go into why I want to do this, and what I hope comes of it.
