Conventional Narrators
Conventional Narrators
Conventional Narrators is a video podcast series that tells the life of individual Post 9/11 veterans after their military service. The transition is difficult mixed with uncertainties, and our guests will disclose both their hardships and success. Nevertheless, our aim seeks to disclose their journey unsullied without external biases and stereotypes. Furthermore, closing the wide gap between civilians and the military begins by understanding one another. These stories shouldn't highlight our differences, but to show how much we have in common regarding our struggles and hopes for a better future in America.
Conventional Narrators| Episode 3| Geoff Abrahms: Combat Medic to Nursing Student
Geoff ETS’d from the Army in 2016 and is currently an undergraduate nursing student. He is finishing up his last year and is preparing for the NCLEX. Geoff was a combat medic. His deployment to Afghanistan in 2014 solidified his path to stay within the medical field after the military. Starting nursing school wasn’t easy. Aside from getting back into the rhythm of going to school again, Geoff had to overcome the social and personal challenges once he became a civilian. A story that is common amongst Post 9/11 veterans.
