Favorite Pod
This is truly one of my favorite, never-miss-an-episode, podcasts. As someone who loves to run/ride/yoga/etc. but is in their mid-late 30's, with a job and children, I have not thought of myself as "an athlete" since high school. I started listening to this podcast a year ago when Molly was a guest on the Trail Running Womens podcast, and she sounded so smart, hip and accessible that I was immediately intrigued. Then last summer, I attended my first women's cyclocross clinic and the leader encouraged everyone to check out the Consummate Athlete podcast. After over a year of tuning in weekly, I am a full fledged fan girl. I feel more confident in my goals, more able to refer to myself as an athlete, and more inspired to try new sports (in January I started Mountain Biking after getting a tibial stress fracture from marathon training). As a tangential sidenote, I also enjoy the relationship dynamic between Molly and Peter, who host the podcast together (and are also married). When they do intros, they sometimes disagree on topics or points -- but disagree in such a refreshingly healthy yet genuine way. Respectfully disagreeing with your partner is an art and these two seem to have it down. Hope anyone interested in cycling, running, women's health, or healthy marital dynamics checks them out!

So relevant to endurance athletes
Almost every episode they come out with feels relevant to me as a hobbyist endurance athlete. And I’ve talked with Molly personally and she is just wonderful!

Always good content
Great podcast hosts who do a mix of guests and answering questions. Their book and webpage are top notch also!

Enjoying the topics and interviews
Keep up the great job. I’ve really enjoyed the banter back and forth when discussing different topics, like preparing for a race/making mistakes. I also have really enjoyed how prepared the interviewers sound when interviewing guests. Even though I haven’t yet done endurance sports to these accomplished athletes’ levels, they still make the process of preparing for various races and physical activities very tangible, and they don’t make me feel any “less than.” In fact, they make it seem a bit inviting. PS- Loved, Loved, Loved the interview with Ellie Pell!

Fun to listen & great insights

I’m a big fan
I love the way Pete and Molly play off each other. They don’t always agree, and they bring different perspectives to a lot of topics, but they both add something worthwhile. While they sometimes focus on topics that are physically over my 66 year old head, I can always find some useful nuggets, and the guests are terrific. I appreciate how they let the guests tell their stories, and don’t use them as a means to pump up their own views and accomplishments, like so many other podcasters do.

Top 5 podcast!!
I save this podcast for my tough runs because it always motivates me. If I'm having a crappy day, it reassures me that even great athletes have crummy workouts, and it makes me want to come back and try harder. I also really appreciate the fact that you address the concerns of a variety of athletes, including over 50, like me. Keep being awesome!!

Applicable Information
Great interviews and information in a consumable and useful format. A nugget of seriousness in the sea of silly that is the WAP network. Hope you get enough reviews to get a dog (but maybe not one so prone to back issues).

Practical, solid advice delivered in a low-key tone
This podcast is one of my favorites for cycling / running and generally active living. Peter and Molly are very detailed and well prepared for their guests and ask insightful questions in a comfortably low key tone (i.e. never feel like anything is being overly hyped).

McDougall Episodes
Chris McDougall episodes are probably my favorite. I also enjoy his writing so much, the style and the relevance to my life and my beliefs. Thank you so much for doing the podcasts. They are so important to my life and development.

Great pod for outdoor enthusiasts!
I found this podcast because I’m a big fan of ‘The Outdoor Edit’, Molly Hurford’s website. These interviews are like the spoken extension of all the great advice and information available there! The guests and conversations are fascinating and I love the way Molly and Peter guide the conversations. Highly recommend!

Enjoy the perspective
As someone who has worked in wildfire management for 20 years, I train my body and mind like I’m preparing for competition. The mental and physical demands of the job wear many people down. I work hard to maintain myself so that when I retire I’m still healthy enough to keep up with my outdoor activities. (MTBing and running) This show offers great insights on ways to keep up with my goals. Thanks for doing it.

Varied and Interesting
As an older woman who does cycling and running events (mostly duathlons, but some TT’s and 5-10ks) I have been enjoying the content in your wide ranging and interesting pod... and I don’t feel marginalised in the ways I often have by other athletic-related discussions. Thanks!

Binge listen worthy
This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. Long endurance rides this past summer allowed me to binge listen to them all! I love the witty banter between Molly & Peter. As a cyclist that also loves running in the off season, this is the perfect podcast for me. Also I enjoy when Peter says “suss” it out, and I may start saying it around Canadians to add to my coolness.

Awesome podcast for training and inspiration!
Super excited to find this podcast- very helpful and informative- browsing through many episodes of interest. Just listened to Hannah Finchamp’s tips for the BC Bike Race- definitely on my bucket list and cool to hear about her experience! Thanks Molly & Peter! Moving on to Kate Courtney!! So inspirational!👍🏻😅

Part of my weekly repetoire
As a professional archer, I am always looking for quality material to listen to while spending hours a day shooting at a target and pulling my arrows. I know "of" Molly from my days racing cyclocross and mtn bike in New England, and I've always found her material interesting. As someone who still follows the cycling scene from a distance, but isn't IN it anymore, I really enjoy the variety in this podcast. I get to hear from people I've followed for years, but I also get to learn about new sports. As a top athlete, I am always interested to hear how other top athletes train, balance work/life/family, and what gets them through tough days. By far my favorite episode to date is with Stacy Sims, the author of Roar. I shared this will all of my archer friends, especially the women.

Super informative!
Molly and Peter have been putting out great, diverse content for a long time and I can always find some nugget in every episode that I can apply to my own training; even if the topic is a completely different sport than my own. Really well done, and getting better all the time.

Great pod for Well rounded athletes
The hosts have thorough interviews with interesting and guests from wide-ranging backgrounds. Also I like the banter between Molly and Peter when they bicker — it’s like Tim Heidecker arguing with Greg Turkington on the “On Cinema, at the Cinema” show.

Always Interesting and Helpful
With each episode I enjoy this podcast more. I am mainly a cyclist so it's interesting to get insight into other sports, and each guest has tips and philosophies that apply to all athletes. Keep up the great work, Molly and Peter!
