Republicans have been in charge of Texas for 30 years.  They have increasingly refused to use their power to actually make the state, politically and policy-wise, a red state. So now voters are threatening to paint it officially blue. I’m joined by Texas Rep. Brian Harrison (R) to examine why Republicans are struggling in a state that should be one of the strongest conservative strongholds in America. Harrison argues that weak GOP leadership, failure to deliver results, runaway government spending, property taxes, corporate welfare, data-center subsidies, and literally handing power to people like James Talarico have created an opening for Democrats to gain ground. The answer, he says, isn't simply to tell voters to fear Democrats. Republicans need to demonstrate what their control of government can actually accomplish. Harrison lays out an aggressive agenda for a Texas special session — including major property-tax relief, ending corporate welfare, addressing data centers and Flock cameras, reducing government spending, cutting gas taxes, and tackling affordability. Do Republicans, including those who feign outrage over Democrats, actually want to win or not?
