Our firm places over 150 candidates per year giving us insight into the entire hiring process; from resume submission to offer. Over the last two decades, we continually encounter the same issues that prevent candidates from moving forward in the interview process. The most prevalent problem is ineffective resumes. Many of the candidates we work with use “professional resume writing” firms to help with their resumes. Most of these resumes do not contain the proper content and are not formatted properly. The majority of resume writers have never presented a candidate to a hiring manager, so they do not know what they are seeking in a good resume.
