Steve joined Phelan Paranormal on a paranormal investigation of the merchant marine ship launched in 1945 that is now docked in Tampa as a museum. Tim asks about the investigation, what was involved and what, if anything, was found. 

The in-depth conversations about Preston Castle with Sybil Griffith and Connie Brenner produced way more content than I could fit into the Phantom History Podcast. Here are a couple of my favorite moments from those conversations, including Connie's experience with a full-bodied apparition and Sybil's unfortunate run-in with a bat in the ladies' room.

Sybil Griffith has had an affiliation with Preston Castle since she was three years old. Her father took a job there when she was a child and today, Sybil works as an administrator and tour guide. I had a chance to interview Sybil for Phantom History and she had some incredible insight into the building’s history and use, the conditions that the wards endured while there and a few stories about the unexpected encounters she has had.

The paranormal world is nothing new to Tiffany Fitzpatrick, who identifies as a grey eclectic witch and psychic medium. Tiffany spent the weekend with us at Phantom History House and before she left I had a chance to talk to her about what she does and how she does it. I learned a lot about what it means to be a psychic medium as well as how tarot cards help her see what many of us cannot.

Preston Castle will always be the place that paranormal investigator Connie Brenner saw her first full-bodied apparition. Connie now runs paranormal tours of the historic “school of industry” and shared numerous stories of paranormal encounters that she, her team and her guests have experienced. In this interview you’ll see she makes a point of sharing that the spirits aren’t evil or malevolent, just depressed and irritated. 

Off a rural road in Pasco County Florida sits what remains of a once-thriving grand botanical garden created by William Dupree. This Tampa Bay Attorney created this roadside tropical attraction in 1940 and more than 30,000 people paid admission to see it. Unfortunately ,it didn't last long, thanks to the supply shortages of World War II. I walked through the ruins and did some research to help understand what once stood here, just 100 or so yards away from a modern neighborhood.
