Farewell
I will definitely miss this podcast and Will and BJ’s rapport. However as I scroll back through episodes I missed the first time around, I’m impressed with so many shows that touch on evergreen topics I’ll always need a refresher on.
The podcast might’ve retired but it will be a fantastic resource for a long time.

Dead air podcast
I used to listen to this crew a lot. Sad to see they’re done, but frankly I felt they stagnated a long time ago. So much time spent talking about personal hobbies without making any real points. There’s nothing wrong with being well-rounded and encouraging listeners to live balanced lives, but these episodes could’ve been 15 minutes each. Frankly, learning Slavic languages without any apparent travel aspirations seemed vain. The long-running IoT segment was equally pointless with a noticeable lack of applicable projects to talk about.

Good Conversations on Core Topics & Principles
I enjoy the subject matter these guys discuss. Most of it is applicable to those who’ve been in the field for a while, as well as those just entering the space. My one piece of critical feedback is to cut the banter short in the beginning. I don’t love listening to 7.5 minutes of fluff before getting to the meat of the episode.

Great podcast for developers!
BJ and Will do a great job to have fun conversations that are full of insights into life and careers. The topics are wide ranging from technical principles to personal issues you need to work through. Great stuff!

Long time listener, first time commenter
I’ve been listening to your shows for years and never took the action to properly thank you for the good that you’ve done for me and the community. When I first started listening I was lost in what I wanted to do with my life and binging through the earlier episodes started to give me confidence in my ability to improve and make my on again off again programming learning journey a consistent one. Last year I decided to actually put it to use and committed to myself that I would be a developer by the time my next birthday (the end of May) rolled around. After quitting my job and going through a bootcamp (Ironhack), I am happy to say that I achieved that goal back in January. Although you didn’t know it, this show kept driving me to improve with every listen. Thank you for helping me build more confidence in myself, learn important concepts

Good for anyone new in IT!
I’m a computer Information systems student graduating in May so I’ve been doing all of the things that I need to do so that I can get a good entry level job afterwards, so listening to a lot of the episodes with topics on personal development outside of education has been soooo helpful for me! Since I worked most of college and had to support myself I didn’t get a lot of time to work on personal projects or anything outside of school so I’m having to put the recruiters’ microscope on my personality and ability to learn and work with people very well and listening to this podcast has gave me so many good pointers, especially the LinkedIn and Social anxiety episodes!

Great content and engaging hosts!
Really appreciate the insights, tips, and transparency you guys offer every week! I especially loved the episode on Perseverance (per-severence...?). You guys can’t know how much I needed to hear everything you guys talked about that day. Thank you both for what you do!

Excellent Show
This podcast is so relevant to my life as a developer, I’ve been binge listening since finding this gem of a podcast. I’ve listened to several developer/programmers podcasts in the past. This is by far the most helpful. These guys have great chemistry and I can’t wait to listen every day. They explain things I go through constantly, giving it a name I wasn’t aware of and explaining how they handle it. Even their sleep hygiene and burnout topics just started to change the way I live my developers life. I LOVE this podcast. Thanks guys! You’re awesome!

More Than Dev
I love the conversations BJ and Will have that goes beyond development activities. The way they share their personal examples of having to rely on their interpersonal skills is refreshing. Their technical conversations are always on point, but if you're a seasoned dev you'll find comfort in hearing these two talk about navigating the same tough moments all projects have outside of their development activities.

I love this podcast, I started listening to it when I began working at a warehouse this summer. Since I was allowed to use one headphone while working, I took the opportunity to listen to this podcast to gain more information and perspective on working in the field. Thanks to this podcast I’ve been getting more and more interested in CS and it’s definitely motivating me to code more and continue my degree

Love the show
I just changed from accounting to CS in school and was looking for a podcast to supplement my learning and stumbled across CDP! These guys have natural chemistry and it’s so fun to hear them cover interesting topics. While their shows are structured and packed with info, I also really appreciate the side banter and stories. It makes for a really fun listening experience.
If you guys ever make it out to Portland, beers on me!

Great listen
I’ve been listening to this show for a few months now, Will and BJ are both really cool guys and I appreciate the passion they both have for software development. They are both very intelligent and have big personalities. I’d recommend this podcast to anyone - newbie or even senior dev.

Would not recommend
I am a newbie-ish developer who has a lot of time at my day job to listen to podcasts. After listening to all of "Jr Developer Toolkit", knowing this was a sibling podcast I decided to give it a try. I tend to start at the oldest episodes and make my way further, and I found this podcast tough to listen to. If you are fine with listening to men in their late thirties talk about being motivated to do things by "hot girls" and just a general toxic sort of mentality, this would be the podcast for you. For me, there were just way too many cringeworthy moments in the 6 podcasts I listened to that I would not recommend this to anyone, but especially not anyone but straight white males. The content itself was ok, the hosts are not.

Great find for an ancient noob...
I got a B.S. degree in Computer Science almost 36 years ago - in June of 1983. Between then and now I've done pretty much everything that you can legally do with a computer. At the beginning of my career I was doing "scientific" coding - basically code that was run from the command line to crunch numbers - in FORTRAN, and then later in C. After 10 or so years of that, I wandered (well, got dragged) into system administration and other non-coding tasks. So now that I'm trying to get back into coding doing some web development and some IoT work, I'm a complete noob - and this podcast is perfect for me. The variety of topics is excellent, and the depth of coverage for each one is just right. The two perspectives provided, along with examples of practical application to daily life is very helpful. I only wish I'd found this podcast sooner. I'm currently listening to each new one as it's published, and trying to catch up on the back catalog as time permits.
P.S.: I really appreciate the fact that these fellows don't use profanity (at least I've not heard them use any on the podcast), and that they don't stray into discussions of political issues.

Great developer podcast
I’m a Data Analyst that does some work more toward the developer end of things. This podcast provides a good balance of information. I especially like the episode where you forecast for the coming year in tech!

Superior podcast.
Just wanted to drop in and say how much I’m loving this podcast. I’ve listened for a couple years now, and these guys are always on point with no nonsense advice on how to win the day. If anyone (curmudgeon or noob alike) is looking for a reliable podcast filled with development tips from where the rubber meets the road, this is it. Will and BJ, thank you and keep up the great work. May the neckbeard be with you. Always.

I find this podcast very relatable to my actual workplace. Troublesome developer was one of the podcast that my co-worker suggested and that is what got me hooked on to this channel. I hope you guys get more of such developer behavior related podcast.

Fantastic, relevant content and perspectives
I found this podcast after listening to all of the Junior Developer Toolbox episodes, and continue to learn something new with each new episode. I go through the archive between new episodes, and it is inspiring to hear perspectives from developer positions at multiple career stages. Thanks for continuing to share your stories Will and BJ!

BJ and Will have touched my life with their work! I discovered The Complete Developer Podcast while searching for inroads to a tech career from building maintenance. This has been a difficult search. When I found this podcast, I wasted no time downloading and devouring every episode in just a few weeks. These guys have given me hope, grounding and direction to accomplish a monumental task in my life. This is a needful resource! Thanks Will and BJ and please keep it going!

This podcast is awesome
I'm a huge fan of this show, and definitely recommend it. It's one of the few dev-related podcasts I've stayed subscribed to for more than a few months, because they're very good at drawing out insights from the tech and problems they dive into without getting lost in the specifics that won't cross over to other areas. I'm mid-level, looking to make the jump to senior, so I really appreciate the focus on teasing out recurring themes as opposed to language or framework specific deep dives. All wrapped up in a relaxed vibe that feels like two guys BSing after a long day at work.

Practical and funny
The most practical software develper podcast there is. And funny! It's a challenging field we are in, so BJ and Will's wit is very welcome, as they explore relevant topics, in an insighful and down to earth manner. I learn something of value with every episode.

I met BJ at BarCamp Nashville yesterday at the Complete Developer Podcast table. I just listened to my first Complete Developer Podcast and I'll be back for more. These guys are both entertaining and informative. Their tips on job hunting are just what I needed to hear right now. I can't wait to listen to more of their podcasts. Keep up the great work guys!

Fantastic Podcast
Will and BJ really complement each other. This podcast is easy to listen to, and I always make sure to plug in when I know I have to drive somewhere just so I can listen in. Since I'm starting out in web development, this podcast covers topics you wouldn't learn in the classroom. My favorite episodes have been the ones on health and the job search. Please don't ever stop pushing out more episodes, as you definitely have a huge fanbase who are eager to listen and learn from you two!

One of the best tech podcast out there
One of my favorite podcast to listen to and I listen to a lot :) Each and every episode have been very well done and informative. Being new to the field, it is great to have the insight from two very knowledgeable people, like Will and BJ. If anyone is looking for a language agnostic language, or all around great podcast to listen to, then I would definitely recommend this one. My only concern is that I am going to run out of episodes to listen to soon.
PS Im still trying to figure out how miuch BJ deadlift, but I'm pretty sure I have a few lbs over him :P

Interview with John Sonmez
Great interview guys! John is like the big brother I never had. His advice cuts deeply but once you get over the wound to your fragile ego you realize the hard won wisdom he brings to the table. The greatest overarching principle I took from him is never trust anyone that only tells you what you want to hear. Sometimes what is best to hear is exactly the thing you don't want to hear. I hope that John will eventually come back for a second interview one day. This interview represents a great step forward for the podcast and tons of legwork on the part of beej and will. Truly appreciate having met you both. One day soon we need to grab a beer together!

Expert advice, excellent sound quality, real life useful information
I've recently heard about this podcast and I've listened to the latest four episodes (Design Mistakes on March, 2nd 2017 being the most recent) and I HIGHLY recommend listening if you're a professional or aspiring software developer / engineer. I'm a host of the Coding Blocks podcast and it's exciting to see that there is another podcast out there focusing on real world development problems and solutions that aren't just another interview show. I love the format you guys are doing and the broad array (pun) of topics that you cover. The shows are full of actionable, useful information, the hosts have a great chemistry with a contagious laugh, and the sound quality is excellent, which is a must for me. You earned a five star review. Killer stuff guys. Allen Underwood

Will and BJ do an excellent job providing information and advice for up and coming developers. Although both the hosts work in the .NET world, the emphasis is on the skills needed by all developers. This podcast is professionally produced with excellent sound quality. The creators understand that a good podcast must have a reliable structure that a listener can count on every episode. The overall trope is that of a dialog between an experienced developer and a newbie developer; sort of a Don Quixote dynamic. Will is adept at providing metaphors for advanced concepts that will stick in your mind, while BJ frequently manages to ask the question you would have asked. The shows are about an hour in length.
