Our perception of others affects how we relate to them, and how we categorize them - are they cool, are they safe, are they intimidating, are they a person to be avoided? Are they a person who I can bring into my life or someone I should keep at a distance? Jesus had an interaction with a Roman soldier that has implications for how we categorize and interact with the people in our lives.
