We've all heard the popular saying, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." It's talking about the importance of teaching someone to do something for themselves, rather than doing it for them. Jesus lived this out far before it was a popular idiom, but not in the way you may think.
