Rupert Ward - Building Spiritual Resilience – Living faithful as resident aliens (29th Oct)
The weekly message from Community Church Edinburgh. This talk is from Sunday, 29th Oct 2023.The first letter of Peter is written to exiles in what is now modern-day Turkey. Exiles could be better under understood as “resident aliens”, people who had put down roots in one locality and yet didn’t fully belong to that culture. This sermon explores some of the major themes of the book and how we can live as faithful disciples of Jesus in the midst of a culture that is not our home.

We look at the story (in Acts Chapter 10) of Peter the Apostle visiting Cornelius, a Roman army officer. These are two people from different groups at enmity with each other. Rupert draws some powerful principles about how we can be a force for good,  bringing harmony in the midst of disagreement.
