Hello! I decided that while we're all locked up, I would release an episode that's miles different from the usual. During this episode, I'm reading a short story by Patrick Lafcadio Hearn called A Passional Karma. It's a really interesting Japanese ghost story that has elements of classical tragedy and horror, but presented through a Buddhist lens. I really hope you enjoy it. Listening to my own voice when editing is not my strong suit!

I really hope you're all doing well despite the global pandemic. This time I am reading Japanese Ghost Stories by Lafcadio Hearn. Its very interesting to read the interpretation of culture by a Western author, but one living in Japan during the Meiji era. Stay safe, love you. 

Hello! This episode sees Bateman working from home a bit, as the code he writes refuses to work. Also he reads a bit of Japanese Ghost Stories by Lafcadio Hearn. Jake refused to come and sit with me this time. 

Sweet baby Jesus we're back. Just on my own this time, as it's much less stressful than getting someone in to be my guest.  This week, I was reading Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I then folded the laundry. 

This week I sit down with my wife Alice, which is nice (and a little rare)! Alice was reading The Last Children of Tokyo by Yoko Tawada, and I was playing Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Content Warning - this episode may not be suitable for those with misophonia as Jake makes some real weird noises. This week I sit with poet and author Syd Briscoe for some well-earned quiet time. Syd was reading Call Me By Your Name, and I was just faffing about in general. Jake was being buck wild so enjoy that. 

This episode I sat with comedian and nice boy David Callaghan. David was watching some football highlights and then doing some writing. I was playing Diablo III again. Highlights include Jake licking his lips right next to the microphone, and me adjusting the blinds in the room. Also try and spot where I get a phone call from my mum. 

This episode I sit with comedian and writer Richard Brown. Richard was reading Room to Dream by David Lynch and Kristine McKenna. I was playing Diablo III on the Switch.  Highlights include - Jake the Dog getting up and moving in a circle a bit, and a somewhat loud slap that I can't identify.
