Pint Size Media
In just seven years, Come Wine With Us™ South Africa has evolved from six people sitting around a kitchen table into a custom offering that can’t be found anywhere else. Come Wine With Us™ South Africa expanded not only in the size of its community but also to exploring different beverages and brands. Made with the lovers of all things food, drink and travel in mind, Come Wine With Us™ has evolved into Come Join Us® South Africa, which promises to offer bespoke experiences to anyone who never wants to do the same thing twice. Founder and host, Sybil Doms, not only studied at Banhoek Valley’s Institute of Culinary Arts (ICA), but she also spent time learning from some of the industry’s best-known chefs. Following this, she was awarded a prestigious Sommelier Scholarship at Waddesdon Manor in the UK, which she completed before returning to South Africa. Before returning to her roots of food, travel and wine, Sybil enjoyed the experience as a freelance fashion, décor and food stylist. The Come Join Us podcast is all about chatting to likeminded people, foodies, as well as masters of their craft, being it winemakers, master distillers or anybody we find really interesting. A proudly South African podcast where we would like to introduce the world to real people, real talent and real conversation.
Chef Arno Janse van Rensburg – Chef and Owner of Janse and Co Restaurant
At Come Join Us we are constantly inspired by chefs in the South African food industry. Back in the day while studying at the ICA, Chef Arno and myself actually did one part of our practice together with the absolute legend himself Graeme Shapiro. Loads of fun times, hard work and laughs. Today I chat Chef Arno about his food journey and opening up his brand-NEW restaurant Janse and Co in Kloof Street, Cape Town. We chat about local and produce and working with the best of what South Africa can offer. A definite must-visit for lunch or dinner when you are in Cape Town next time!

Martin Moore - Head Winemaker at Durbanville Hills
A winery as imposing as Durbanville Hills was always going to need a cellar master with matching personality and skill. Martin Moore was that person, appointed in 1998 while the cellar was still under construction. Martin was attracted to winemaking whilst growing up in Worcester, spending many a weekend on a farm – attentively watching vineyards coming into production and wine being produced at a small winery. Come Wine With Us was privileged enough to be working with Durbanville Hills the last five years on specialized curated events. Known for their delicious crisp Sauvignon Blanc’s I went to chat to Martin about their brand NEW range called the ‘Reserve Range”. For the month of November, we will be hosting our last Come Wine With Us events for the year in Durban and JHB with Durbanville Hills Reserve Range. Be sure not to miss these special events.

Jacques Bruwer – Winemaker and Owner of Bon Courage Wines
I grew up 3km from Bon Courage on a farm in Robertson. As a teenager I use to work at Café Maude which belonged to Maude, Jacques sister. Then after my waitering stunt of working school holidays and weekends I moved over to the wine sales. I Absolutely loved the wines I worked with which ranged from prize winner Collombard Chardonnays, MCC and Red Wines. On this podcast episode, I enjoy some oysters and chat with Jacques Bruwer about his dream of making MCC. “Innovation is an absolute key when it comes to making great wines.” Like they say Robertson is a small town with a big heart.
