A compass in new territory
I’m sharing Nat’s work with everyone I come across on my parenting journey! Nat’s work feels like a compass for navigating new territory in building the world I want to live in…a world built around the rhythms of the human nervous system and the planet’s ecosystem. It’s a model I can practice living into daily, with the gifts I already have been given, by joining this intentional community into which Nat so beautifully invites us.

Empowring and validating
I find Nat’s podcasts and her work in general refreshing, empowering and deeply validating. Nat’s work has suported my connection with my self, nature and with others. I am grateful for her invitations that constantly increase my understanding of and curiosity about my body reactions in relation to our our social context and of the state of the world. I am also inspired by the call to action and the many examples of ways in which we can get involved. I think often about transforming rage into generative paths for collective service. Nat’s work has increased my awareness about my moments of paralysis, what I am already doing for justice, and what I could further do. Thank you Nat for your service!

Check out Come Back to Care
Working in the field of infant and early childhood, I know how important parents and caregivers are and as a parent myself, what hard work it is! We all need a community and support to be what we need to for our little ones. Nat and Come Back to Care are wonderful resources for authentic and social justice caregiving. I only wish I had this community when I was first parenting, but the themes, advice, and grace resonate and are useful no matter what age your child is. I’m an avid listener!

Incredible resource for anyone that has a child, works with children, or was once a child.
I have recommended this podcast to everyone I know, and I mean everyone - from my graduate students exploring child development theories to parents navigating daily challenges, and even friends during long car rides. It's become a touchstone in conversations about care, development, and human connection. What makes it extraordinary is how it manages to be both grounding and inspirational, both research-based and deeply personal. Nat has this remarkable gift for taking complex research and transforming it into wisdom that feels like it's coming from a trusted friend. What sets "Come Back to Care" apart is Nat's incredible ability to weave together neuroscience, attachment theory, and real-life experiences in a way that feels like you're having coffee with a brilliantly insightful friend who happens to also love squirrels. Her warmth and authenticity shine through in every episode, creating a space where complex topics around child development and caregiving feel not just approachable, but deeply relevant to our daily lives. I especially appreciate how she tackles challenging subjects with such thoughtful nuance. Whether she's exploring emotional regulation, discussing the impact of trauma, or sharing insights about attachment, Nat brings both professional expertise and personal vulnerability to the conversation. She has this wonderful way of validating our struggles while gently nudging us toward growth and understanding - always with a healthy dose of humor and humility. The production quality is outstanding, but what really makes this podcast special is how it leaves you feeling both more informed and more supported in your journey. Each episode offers practical takeaways while nurturing a deeper sense of connection to ourselves and our little ones. It's like having a wise, caring mentor in your pocket who reminds you that you're doing better than you think you are, while also showing you how you might grow. For anyone working with children or interested in understanding human development more deeply, this podcast is an absolute gift. It's a masterclass in combining heart and science, theory and practice, wisdom and warmth. Thank you, Nat, for creating such a meaningful resource that helps us all come back to what matters most - caring for ourselves and each other with greater awareness and compassion.

Helping with my inner child
Nat’s insight and wisdom is so life giving. I’m not a parent, but I’ve benefited from listening to Nat as I’m healing my inner child. So many things have surfaced on my path towards alignment in collective liberation - and slowing down to work with my body and inner child has been necessary. Nat brings so much compassion and conviction into her work and I’m so grateful!

The abolitionist infant mental health analysis the world needs
As an infant mental health (IMH) clinician and new parent, it is rare for me to find resources that align with all of my political, clinical, and personal values. When I discovered the Come Back To Care podcast, I was blown away by Nat’s ability to integrate a principled abolitionist and decolonial analysis with the tried and true IMH principles. I recommend her podcast to my clients, colleagues, and comrades because I trust that every episode is intentionally designed to bring us one step closer to the community centered abolitionist future that we all dream of. When I feel hopeless or isolated about the state of the world or my role in the revolution, Nat’s voice alchemizes my apathy and mobilizes me into action. Now I’ve had the great privilege to meet and collaborate with Nat, I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most brilliant minds and powerful leaders we have in this movement to heal and disrupt the wounds of systems of oppression in our families, in the field, and in the streets. This podcast is a gift to the world and to our movements. I am constantly humbled, challenged, and inspired by Nat’s love for liberation. I know that the ripple effects from her revolutionary efforts to transform the field and our hearts will be felt for generations to come.

Build a table with more seats!!
I recently had the absolute privilege and pleasure of supporting Nat for a training she was giving for our non-profit. Nat was so warm, generous, inviting, and insightful. I wrote down so many profound takeaways that I have revisited since the training. I highly encourage anyone exploring social justice, parenting, education, and challenging norms to give Nat a listen! Nat welcomes you to her table and lovingly helps you challenge deep rooted social norms, gently encourages you to dig deep and practice self reflection and authentically shares her full and true self while welcoming you to be yours. I can’t wait to make my way through all the episodes!

Wow! I am so grateful that I was introduced to Nat and Come Back To Care. Nat has shown me the importance of patience and slowing down. She is kind and thoughtful. Helping me to parent from my place of truth
I have been listening to Nat’s podcasts for over one year and am now in her 6 week course. I haven’t met anyone doing the kind of work that she is doing, transforming systems by starting with ourselves and our relationship with our children. I encourage this work for every parent who seeks to live from a place of truth and courage.

Brilliant insights into parenting in an unjust world
Nat lays out the challenges and a clear path forward to parenting in a conscious, thoughtful way. She provides both the philosophical foundation and practical tips to change parents’ internal scripts and teach both themselves and their kids how to build a better, less oppressive society.

Brilliant insights for socially conscious caregivers
Nat embodies that rare combination of insight, warmth, and accountability that is much needed in our world, and, equally important, in our homes. The wisdom she shares provides a framework for deconstructing the dominant narrative that has for too long perpetuated the shame cycles driving our roles as caregivers and instead offers curiosity into our own experiences, which leads into greater curiosity and compassion toward our children. This seemingly simple focus might start with our individual family experience, but Nat extends it beyond the walls of our own homes into our communities and across the world to stand in solidarity with other humans across the globe. I highly recommend you listen to her words, let them soak in, and then take aligned action in your life 🙌🏼

Finding Courage & Living with Integrity
Nat brings ease, delight, care and encouragement navigating hard to talk about intersectional topics of social justice, community, and relationships amongst the work place, family, friends, partners and most importantly the relationship we have with our own self navigating through the world. Although pivoted towards parents, I truly believe in my heart that this podcast is meant for everyone. While I don’t have children myself, I’ve learned a lot about how to recognize when social practices are out dated, how to navigate relationships and build a better support system that aids my development of a person who carries more patience and kindness towards others and towards myself. This podcast has been instrumental in opening up my capabilities in standing up for my morals in a way that teaches others by way of example that everyone deserves to be seen, respected and valued. And furthermore, Nat gives us those instruments on finding our voice in communicating my value with others. I enjoy my morning commutes listening to this podcast. My super-cape, if you will, for taking on the day & taking on the world hand in hand. Thank you Nat, for your vulnerability in opening up yourself so that we can heal our own inner child.

If only I had this podcast 12 years ago!!!
Raising two kids, working full time, and managing my and my kids disabilities, It’s hard to justify ‘quiet’ time to myself to garden or go for a run while listening to podcasts that make me feel better about my parenting. That’s how I know I NEED Nat wisdom and all The amazing strategies she has to offer. I am completely hooked. Seriously - the fun approach and the easy strategies she gives me to use right away make me feel like we could uplift an entire generation of kids and transform the world within the next ten years. This is the transformative justice focused parenting guide I needed when I was a young autistic mom trying to figure out how to break cycles of hurt and rage while stuck at home with two screaming babies. I could have saved myself years of pain and and several trips to the hospital (along with all the bills and therapy) if only I had this podcast 12 years ago. So, me from 12 years ago - if you don’t feel like you deserve time, help, and can’t ask for anything yourself, especially the warm, BFF support Nat gives to you for free - that’s a sign that this podcast and a little quality time with Nat is the gift you need. Do it for your kids, they deserve a parent who is the best version of you.

Come Back To Care
"Come Back to Care" with Nat. From the very first episode, this podcast has captivated my heart and mind, leaving me feeling special, challenged and empowered in my journey as a person, parent and as a loved one. Nat's insightful teachings and knowledge have undoubtedly transformed the way I approach parenting and relations. "Come Back to Care" is more than just a podcast; it's a profound experience that offers valuable reminders and enlightening insights. It gave me inspiration to decolonize the “standard” way of parenting and parent our own way in a simple, organic yet challenging way. Nat's ability to articulate complex concepts in an accessible manner is truly commendable. I found out about Nat at the AMC workshop in 2022, as it presented me with fresh perspectives and new ways of considering my role as a parent and as a person in relation to my loved ones. One of the most remarkable aspects of this podcast is its inclusivity and resonance with various lifestyles and cultures. As early childhood educators, my partner and I have often struggled to find a parenting and family mentor who aligns with our values and cultural background. However, "Come Back to Care" with Nat has filled that void effortlessly. Nat's teachings not only harmonize with our way of life but also honor and embrace the diverse experiences of all listeners. Nat's genuine passion for guiding families and nurturing relationships shines through in every episode. It is evident that the advice and wisdom shared on the podcast are rooted in profound experience and expertise, making it all the more impactful and relevant. I must say that this podcast has made me feel proud of embracing my true self. Nat's teachings emphasize the importance of authenticity and self-compassion, reminding us that we are enough as we are, and that parenting should be an extension of our genuine selves. This empowering message has brought me a sense of peace and confidence in my parenting journey. Nat's ability to connect with their audience on a profound level is reminiscent of Grace Lee Boggs, a visionary activist and philosopher who dedicated her life to civil rights and social justice. Like Boggs, Nat possesses a unique way of combining intellectual depth with heartfelt compassion, empowering parents, caregivers, and educators to create positive change in their communities. Much like Bev Bos, an influential early childhood educator who emphasized the importance of play and creativity in learning, Nat's teachings on the podcast revolve around nurturing and holistic care for children. Their emphasis on understanding the needs of young minds and fostering a supportive environment mirrors Bos's impactful approach to education. Nat's dedication to creating a nurturing space for children and families aligns with the values of the Black Panther Movement. The movement sought to uplift marginalized communities through community-based programs and initiatives, similar to Nat's mission of providing invaluable resources and support through "Come Back to Care." Nat's podcast, "Come Back to Care with Nat," is a true gift for parents, caregivers, and educators alike. It is an inspiring and heartwarming platform that has the power to transform lives positively. Through their insightful discussions and empathetic approach, Nat helps the listener feel seen, understood, and supported, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. In a world where caregiving can be both rewarding and challenging, Nat's wisdom and relatability offer a much-needed guide for those navigating the intricacies of raising and educating the next generation. "Come Back to Care with Nat" stands as an invaluable resource for anyone seeking to create a more compassionate and nurturing environment for children and families.

Compassionate and deeply thoughtful
Nat shares her expertise as a psychotherapist in such a kind, compassionate and thoughtful way. While I am not a parent, I am essentially trying to reparent myself as an adult who experienced a lot of childhood trauma. The topics Nat dives into provides really insightful information and approaches that I genuinely think can apply to anyone committed to their own personal growth and decolonization/anti racism journey, regardless of being a parent or not. Pairing this podcast with the work I’m doing in therapy has been really helpful. Definitely recommend to anyone reading this to dive in with an open mind and an open heart 💖

A parenting game changer
The best part about what Nat shares with us is her deep expertise in this area. Undoing generations of colonized parenting is critical to our current and future generations thriving, not just surviving. This is the real work and we owe it to the children of this world.

Grateful for Nat and her work
Everything that Nat does is of the highest quality. A simple and straightforward listen for parents
Nat uses research as a foundation to ease the stress on parents and caregivers. By pushing back against the expectations of our white supremacist culture, this podcast acknowledges what society has said makes a perfect caregiver to share what research proves is actually best. If you’re feeling caregiver guilt, give these quick episodes a listen!

A must listen for inner healing
A quick and easy to digest history lesson on solidarity collective healing, and honoring your boundaries. Full of gems from thought leaders and educators from the social justice arena. In just 30 minutes Nat was able to break open the common narrative of “model minority” and speak to its racist origins and how it stemmed from a survival tactic of the individuals in Japanese internment camps. This episode was eye-opening and inspiring. It’s worthy of more than 1 listen. The people need more of this, and I highly recommend everyone to subscribe to this podcast, follow Nat’s wisdom and begin your own unlearning so history won’t repeat itself.
