Dropping dimes!!!
Can we pleaseeeee get dropping dimes back!!! I love listening to Matt knost talk basketball

Dropping Dimes fan
Huge fan of Dropping Dimes, just rating and voicing my opinion to keep the show going. Matt is perhaps the BEST basketball mind when it comes to the NBA and breaking down everything from metrics to rumor mills and projections, he has a very keen eye about the association. I would hear him talk on other shows about sports, but him finally getting his own show specifically on basketball, it’s been nonstop dialogue that I’ve been jonesing for with most basketball podcasts not even comparing. 10/10

Great horror and comic pod!
LOVE nightmares!! Haleigh needs to speak UP a bit, I only heard half of the invisible man episode.. Missing Jon Schnepp everyday. I would have loved to hear his thoughts on all this new media we’re getting. He’ll always be a treasure to me

FYC and dropping dimes
I don’t watch a lot of NBA during the season but this helps me keep up and I like Matt and his guest discuss the topics. FYC gives excellent coverage of the Oscars with fun predictions.

Interesting
I enjoy hearing about non marketed horror films, but Perri is too “happy to be there”. As she gains more experience I’d like to see her be a more discerning voice rather than one that seems to like everything.

TV talk review sep5 2019
I usually love TV talk but this episode made me realize I only like the show because of Thad. When Roxy and Josh do a show together it’s just terrible. Nothing but awfully terrible terrible jokes that just waste time and make me feel bad.

👍🏻
I wish there was a little more pushback in their discussions, but overall it’s really good and I love their deep dives in to directors or franchises

My new favorite Podcast. Perri you’re awesome!!!
I was upset when Collider Nightmares was canceled and I became a huge fan of Perri Nemiroff from that show. Her taste in horror is pretty much identical to mine. This podcast will now fill the empty space I have from the absence of Collider Nightmares. 90’s horror was my favorite and slashers are my favorite sub genre. I appreciate everything this podcast offers. Thank you!!!

Where did the Collider podcast go?
Somewhere along the line the Collider podcast seems to have gotten crushed out of existence. This feed is soooo confusing now. A: Whose idea was this? And B: How come they still have a job?

Thanks! and a hot take!
Thank you for the podcast! Ever since completely falling head over heels in love with film, this podcast has been amazing supplemental material into the more industry side of thinking about movies and I can’t thank the podcast enough for it! My hot take: Game Night is a better executed film than the film it parodies/references: David Fincher’s The Game. Comparisons of the two films have been flying all over the place and for good reason, because Game Night uses Fincher’s structure with The Game and plays with it as much as possible. While The Game approached its concept with an over abundance of self seriousness and too many manipulative twists to even remember, Game Night has fantastic energy and never feels cheap with its twists and turns. While The Game is a fine movie for a still developing David Fincher, Game Night recognizes how completely ridiculous The Game really is, and blasts new energy into it.

Great conversations
Great show with great convrsations. Would love more guests on the show to bring a different and fresh perspective. Hot Take - MoviePass is damaging the movie going experience. It's a company that is establishing false expectations on how much going to the movies are worth and when (not if) the company goes under it will cause a lot more harm than good. How does this company even make money?

Hot tamale! Ay! Caliente!
Lucky Number Slevin is an underrated masterpiece. Watching Josh Hartnett being led around New York in a bath towel unwittingly aided in my sexual awakening....but that is neither here nor there. The film is incredibly clever and the twists are earned and unexpected. Not enough people talk about this movie which is a shame because Lucy Lui is delightful. Also, this podcast good, they talk good words and such. thanks, keep it up collider

Matt and Adam I sincerely appreciate the hard work that y'all put in entertaining us. Your podcast is insightful and is a must listen for anyone with a passion for film. Keep up the good work that being said I have a bone to pick with all the praise that Ladybird has been given. I cannot in good conscience abide by alll the adulation that it has received. I might be the only one who feels this way but to me, Greta Gerwig is just Lena Dunham with better PR. Ladybird is thoroughly adequate from the acting and writing and the visuals but I shudder to think how it could possibly be considered a better film in 2017 than Baby Driver, Blade Runner 2049, Three Billboards or Hell i'd go to bat for Mother! I've seen too many white feminist coastal critics praise it saying things like "omg it spoke to me this is truly the work of a genius auteur." Ladybird so throughly cribs from Noah Baumbach's previous efforts like Greenberg ( Gerwig was in that) that I think it's a valid criticism that ultimately gets shot down as an accusation of misogyny. Look I've never seen a Bigelow or Sofia Coppolla film and thought man they basically wholesale took the ideas, story beats, or visual cues from Cameron and Jonze respectively. Ladybird is as insufferable as Juno and Daria. One way the film could have been improved is if Gerwig would have flipped the mother daughters into P.O.Cs specifically Asian American and the dynamic would have made more sense. It becomes much more understandble if Laurie Metcalfe's character is a Tiger Mom whose disdain for her daughter Ladybird is a direct result of her daughter's absolute entitlement and lack of interest in her studies. As it stands Ladybird has a real shot at best picture and to think that we would follow up last years winner of a story about the life of a gay black man in Miami to a thoroughly mediocre treatise on the unexceptional white femisim of early 00s Sacramento would be an absolute shame. My pick? Get Out was a huge hit commercially and critically and deserves the top prize come 2018.

HOT TAKE and Review
First of all, I wanted to say that I've really been enjoying the podcast, and to keep up the great work,. I just went to see Coco this week, and I thought it was fantastic! An excellent return to form for Pixar. And it's a good thing that it was so fantastic, because otherwise, it might have been completely ruined by Olaf's Frozen Adventure, the insipid 21-minute-long animated "short" that ran before it. I've been racking my brain and I'm pretty sure that Olaf's Frozen Adventure is the worst piece of entertainment media I've seen in at least a decade. First of all, how can anyone possibly think it's a good idea to take a crappy made-for-TV Christmas special and turn it, seemingly uncut, into an animated short to play in front of a completely unrelated movie? Even if it had been good, it would've been way too long. But it was decidedly not good, making it completely unbearable! When I go to see a Pixar movie, I expect one of those charming animated shorts that they produce and put in front of all their movies, and at best is really good (Day and Night, For the Birds, Presto) but at worst is completely harmless and over in five minutes (Boundin'). Instead, what we got was a Frozen animated short, which is already pretty irritating just in general. Then on top of that, even in the first few minutes before I knew how long it was, it was just awful! The songs were terrible and the plot was utterly pointless, even for an animated short. But at about the 5-minute mark, when it started to make my friend and I want to knock each other unconscious just to make it stop, he looked it up on his phone and saw that there were 15 MINUTES LEFT. I literally almost fell out of my chair! It was such a painful viewing experience that at least one person in my theater left and I'm pretty sure didn't come back (if they did, it was well into Coco). A little girl sitting behind me, who looked to be around 8 years old (bullseye on the Frozen demographic target, in other words), said to her mom, "Wow Mommy...this is really bad, isn't it?" I can't imagine why Disney thought this was a good idea. I realize they're trying to get people excited for Frozen 2 or whatever, but all they've succeeded in doing, I'm pretty sure, is making nobody want to see it. What sense does it make to advertise for your new movie by keeping people from watching the movie they actually want to see for almost an additional half-hour? I'm not sure I've ever seen anything that felt so long in all my life...it literally felt like I was watching a Titanic/Return of the King double feature! I'm pretty sure there were as many songs in this 20-minute animated short as there were in the entirety of Frozen. So if I'm going to extrapolate, I'm guessing that Frozen 2 will be over three hours long and feature 100 songs. No thanks on that! It really is a testament to how great Coco was that I was able to sweep Olaf's Frozen Adventure aside in my mind within five minutes and actually get into the movie. Next time, Disney, how about actually putting the dumb Christmas special on ABC like you were going to to begin with and accompanying the movie with an animated short that actually gets audiences in the mood for the movie to come, like has always happened with Pixar movies! Anyway, keep up the good work, guys!

Hot Take
Hi guys, Although I do prefer the originals, I don't find the Star Wars prequels to be as god-awful as most fans make them out to be. In the podcast, you reiterate that you prefer that films have something to say, especially in the way of commenting upon current issues and problems. While his execution is quite flawed, I believe that George Lucas was using the Galactic Republic to represent the way America attempts to overshadow the rest of the world. The occupation of different planets by the Jedi knights and the clone armies eventually evolves into the domination of the evil Empire, and I think Lucas is commenting on the atrocities of the American imperialistic machine. Also, the ineffective world-policing and general apathy of the Jedi Knights is what eventually leads to the downfall of Anakin and the evaporation of freedom for the peoples of the galaxy. I wished he would've developed these themes more, as I find them to be fascinating. Interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to put out such a great podcast. Eric

HOT TAKE!: Poor audio quality dampens listening experience
I’m a fan of Collider and most of the content they produce. This podcast is a neat supplement to Movie Talk and Heroes, and I appreciate hearing new voices and opinions apart from the regular YouTube crew. However, the less-than-ideal audio quality makes for a mixed experience. For instance, the difference in output between Matt and Adam’s voice volumes is WAY too jarring. Either Matt is too quiet or Adam is too loud. I notice this especially while listening over my car stereo. If the podcast producer could fix this issue, then the audiences would be in for a better listening experience.

My Favorite Podcast!
I've been a loyal listener to Adam and Matt for about two years now, so I think it's time to finally leave a review! This podcast is perfect for film fans of all levels of interest. Are you into occassional fanboy snark? Are you a nerd who knows everything about David Lynch? Are you obsessed with composers or cinematographers? Whether you're here for the big budget comic book critiques or dissections of even the most obscure directors/projects, you're in the right place! I love Adam and Matt and will continue to be a loyal listener. I do wish they could find a female co-host, though. They've mentioned before that this is a "scheduling problem," but honestly, that just sounds like a "all the female directors in the world were busy, so another straight white guy had to direct these comic book movies" excuse, and I'm disappointed in that. Otherwise, an amazing podcast hosted by amazing guys! Now, for my hot take, which willl maybe be problematic considering how much the guys loved Blade Runner 2049. Contrary to many think pieces on the internet, I don't believe audiences didn't come out to Blade Runner because they're lazy or stupid, but rather because women saw themselves reduced to sex objects and villains (but mostly sex objects) in the promotional material. Overall, I felt the movie's treatment of female characters was deeply troubling, but I think it's maybe more important to examine why critics and film scholars are more inclined to think people are stupid than to say, "Hey, maybe 51% of the population doesn't want to go to a movie where characters like them are going to be reduced to sex robots." I know this doesn't explain the entire box office failure of Blade Runner 2049, but it still bothers me that this is an issue no one is talking about. That's my hot take! Thank you guys for continuing to put out this amazing show for us! I'm looking forward to the Thor episode!

Great, informative, entertaining film podcast in a crowded market
I am a big fan of the podcast, love to hear these guys give their well-informed opinions on films and the current industry news. As a film student, I appreciate that these guys are at once fans of film and pop culture while also being knowledgeable and critical. HOT TAKE: I have two hot takes for you guys. First, Accepted is the best comedy of the 2000s. With great early performances by both Blake Lively and Jonah Hill, Justin Long's surprising performance as a charming leading man, Lewis Black dropping a handful of very quotable lines, and an array of entertaining side characters (Abernathy and Glenn leading that group), Accepted is a joyful movie that has been way overlooked. And who doesn't get worked up during the climactic speech?? Second, after just watching Wind River, I think the American Frontier Trilogy is the best thematic trilogy by a filmmaker, better even than Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy. These films are beautiful, haunting, and contain some of the greatest performances of the past three years. I'd argue that all three of the films deserve(d) to be considered in the best picture conversation of their respective years.

Always worth a listen
Been a long time listener of the podcast and I'm a big fan. I appreciate the thoughtful discussion and insights from both Matt and Adam. While I don't always agree with you, I enjoy the manner in which you both defend your positions on a given film. Anyway, it's always an enjoyable listen for me and I always get something out of it….I very much appreciate the content, keep em coming fellas (and sometimes ladies)! ***Hot Take***Moana is a far superior animated film than Frozen. I think that the Frozen Fever that swept the nation (and is still present...Frozen on Broadway, Frozen on Ice, a shocking amount of still present Elsa Halloween costumes, etc) is more the result of the collective excitement behind Disney Animation's reinvention than it was about the actual quality of the story and the film itself. There is certainly a lot to like about Frozen, from the central love story to the admittedly show stopping musical number, but I find that Moana is infinitely more rewatchable and plays at a higher level than Frozen in almost every aspect. The songs, while without a radio-playable standout like Let it Go, are so much more impactful within the context of the film and for that reason are far more memorable (and I'm no Rock fanboy, but he really nailed his solo). And even though it's a familiar story for Disney, the emotional payoffs and arcs for both central characters are far more satisfying than anything in Frozen - the setting and animation are breathtaking and the film only gets better with repeat viewings, which I find is very much not the case with Frozen. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bummed that Frozen caught on in the zeitgeist, I'm glad people like it – but I don't understand how the critically praised, financially successful, and deeply satisfying Moana doesn't have the same staying power in pop culture. I feel like it was sort of overlooked, and that makes my wife and I a pair of sad pandas. I realize that I'm in the minority but I'm anxious for your thoughts.

My Go To Movies Podcast
I love the podcasting work of Matt and Adam despite never actually having read or visited Collider prior to downloading this podcast, which leads me to now wonder how I found it in the first place. But I'm glad I did. They really get into some of the deeper details behind the movies they review (social/cultural implications, style, etc), offering far more educated takes than a typical movie review. My hot take: Logan is a better comic book movie than Dark Knight. While Heath Ledger's take on Joker far surpasses any villain in a comic book movie (and a lot of movies period), outside of that performance the movie is, dare I saw, just above average. How many Sophie's Choice moments need to crammed into 152 minutes? Harvey Dent or Rachel Dawes? Kill Reese or blow up a hospital? Boat full of prisoners or boat full of non-prisoners? It's a little much. Not even taking into account Bale's constipated sounding Batman. Logan, while about a "superhero", offers a more grounded and emotional take on a character with far more substance, but it also is entertaining. The Logan-Charles and Logan-Laura dynamics are well thought out and as emotionally real anything done in a comic movie. I'd also put the Logan action sequences, while fewer than an average comic book movie, over any other (like the mindless smashing of infinite robots in Age of Ultron). Don't get me wrong, I actually love watching both movies (and most comic movies in general). But with Dark Knight, it's more about what Ledger does, whereas Logan it's the entirity of the experience. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Keep up the great work!

Good insight into movies
I have been getting more and more into movies now that I'm in my late 20s. This year one of my goals is to watch 4 movies per week (135 in so far). I listen to several different reviewers including Jeremy Jahns, Chris Stuckman, Collider movie talk, Schmoes Know, John Campea, and of course The Collider podcast. This podcast gives a more sophisticated view on films. I don't always agree with them, and sometimes they can come off a bit pompous (haha), but I enjoy their insights and opinions. I especially like their movie recommendations. Even though I haven't enjoyed all of them (e.g. The Fountain and The Graduate), I could see the merit behind the movies and what the directors were going for. I recommend this podcast if you want a professional's take on film. My question (in case this gets on their podcast) would be how they feel about roles in cinema. I feel that actors get most of the praise, more so than directors, writers, etc. It probably has to do with people connecting with what they see, the actors portraying the characters, as opposed to the directors and writers, who I feel deserve more of the credit as they create the characters, situations, tone, etc. Everyone of course is important in the grand scheme on things and has their part to play, but I feel actors are worshiped too much. I think they are mostly replaceable, and I certainly don't care about their personal lives. What are your thoughts?

Fantastic Movie Podcast
This is a great podcast on current movies with in depth discussions. Quicly becoming my favorite podcast and I look forward to it every week. Keep up the good work and I love when you guys dig deep on a certain directors like Christopher Nolan. Hot Take: Joe Dirt is one of the best comedies of the 2000s. It has a fantasic classic rock soundtrack and has an endless amount of quotable lines. David Spade can really rock a mullet and who doesn't love a witness protection mobster Christopher Walken. Lifes a garden...Dig it! (Joe Dirt 2 does not exist)

Good pod (hot take)
Great pod. Love that there's no ads. You guys are real smart. Hot take. Why should I be excited about the new blade runner. Am I the only one who hated the first one. It was so boring I thought. Im honestly asking like explain why people love that movie so much. Granted I'm excited for a denis vilenevue's next movie and a good Harrison ford cameo. But that first movie was just not that good. Not as good as everyone says.

Must-Listen
Matt and Adam know how to dissect current releases without being too critical or praising. They are both fair and earnest in their reviews and in their discussions of the film industry, while not being obsessed with big franchises like other movie podcasts are. Hot Movie Takes for the Podcast -Back to the future 2 is the worst of the three because it sacrifices a cohesive story for a series of novel vignettes set through time. -Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is nowhere near as bad as people say it is. It's definitely mediocre and the worst of the series, but it is not prequel level bad. -Frozen is completely average and Let it Go is a pop Disney song that feels created in a lab for mass audiences. - Rogue One was barely better than the prequels. It had dull, boring characters that completely brought down the movie. - Die Hard 4 is not a good Die Hard movie but is a great action movie. - Avengers 2 and Guardians 2 are both better than their predecessors.

Love the show
I've been listening to you guys for a while. Yours is one of two film podcasts I listen to. While sometimes your technical sound equalization leaves something to be desired, I appreciate your neatly framed discussions on film today. Hot take: James Cameron has always seemed to have issues with authority, especially with the police or military. It's a reoccurring theme in his films I've noticed. The authority is always the true bad guy in the end.

One of my favorite podcasts!
One of my favorite podcasts! Been listening since the very beginning when you guys talked about the first Hunger Games. Love that Matt and Adam give their honest opinion on all films no matter what other critics and fans might be saying. You make the reviews feel more like a conversation and have great thoughts and insights. Keep up the awesome work! Hot Take: Danny Boyle’s Sunshine (2007) is one of the most underrated Sci-Fi films ever made. In my opinion the film is nearly perfect till the 3rd act. The basis of the film seems similar to other save the world sci-fi blockbusters, but I find it does many fresh things with the characters, and is just visually stunning. Even more impressive is how good it looks with such a small budget. It was written by one of my favorite rising writer/director’s Alex Garland of Ex Machina, and the highly anticipated Annihilation. The film is really a character study about these people with a monumental task ahead of them that are isolated and struggling with their sanity. The film builds in its intensity as their situation worsens getting closer to the sun. There is so much atmosphere and emotion, and it is all bolstered by one of my favorite scores of all time by John Murphy. I love some as Boyle’s bold editing choices as well. It did very low numbers at the box office and most people have never heard of it. Almost anyone I show it to really enjoys it. It has remained one of my favorite films of the past decade.

Great podcast for movie fans.
Matt and Adam give consistent insightful review s of film and cover upcoming movie and television news. Ok guys here is my "hot take"... The upcoming Indiana Jones movie will be the the first film in history to De-age the actor for the entire length of the movie. Here's the reason why. Disney doesn't seem to be in any rush to make the next Indiana Jones movie even though Harrison Ford is well into his 70s. It seems that over the last few years they have use that technology in a lot of their films regardless of the scene was needed or not. I think they're doing this because this technology isn't quite perfected yet so they are trying to work out the kinks and also to judge the publics reaction. I think the Kurt Russell, Johnny Depp, and Carrie Fisher scenes are all build up to Harrison Ford.

Love the show. Don't always agree with your film reviews, but one of the things I love is that both of you don't always agree! Hot Take: Wonder Woman would have been the perfect film if Apache Chief would have hulked out and fought Ludendorff. But as it stands A- lol

No better time then to write a review.
I've been following this podcast for 4 1/2 years (back when it was the collision) and I've enjoyed this podcast every week as Matt and Adam discuss the latest movies in an insightful way. The only criticism I have is that for some reason Matt and Adam's levels never seem to be even. Matt's always seems to be lower and Adam seems to be higher. However, these are simple fixes on an Adobe Audition software and YouTube live stream. Great job guys and I hope this keeps going for another 4 1/2 years.

The best movie pod cast you're not listening too!
Ok I don't know what the numbers are for the Collider Podcast but judging by the number of reviews I think it's fair to say not that many people are listening to it. Having said all that, this is honestly my favorite podcast on movies on the net. Matt Goldberg and Adam Chitwood are two incredibly smart pundints who are so knolegable about the subjects they discuss. Their critiques are thoughtful and well thought out and are always a joy to listen to. I always look forward to everyone of their episodes and sometimes they are so good that I catch my self listening to older episodes. So if you are looking for a podcast that looks at modern films honestly and throughly, you will love this podcast!

Love the Pod!
Hot take: Guardians 2 is one of the worst films of the year. I found Chris Pratt totally bland throughout and did not care about any of the character relationships. Ego was an awful villain and the film had no story and without a basic plot to hold on to I wasn't able to stay connected to the film

Collider Has Become Too Mean-Spirited
I have been a longtime listener, in fact, I believe I've listed to every podcast. Matt and Adam typically bring a great deal of entertainment and fun knowledge, but their latest podcast (the King Arthur one) has forced me to shift my mind greatly. I got into what I thought was a friendly debate with Matt Goldberg on Twitter a few days before the podcast, but apparently he didn't view it the same way. Matt proceeded to make fun of my taste, comparing it to that of a 13 year old. Perhaps Matt disagrees with my love of a filmmaker, but that is no way to treat your readers. And it just so happens the filmmaker that sparked his condescending comments was Zack Synder, who by all accounts seems like a terrific human, and in light of recent events, it's all the more tragic that Collider continously hounds and bullies him in what seems to be every article. The website has become so click bait-y, so full of needless snark and cynicism, and Matt's comments on the latest podcast serve as the final confirmation that Collider is simply not what it use to be.

Adam and Matt are the MVPs
Since, I was a fan of Collider Movie Talk I ended up stumbling on this podcast by happen stance. On the first few podcasts the two seemed quite negative, but after awhile they grew on me. Eventually I would see them as two experienced film critics that are not only knowledgeable about film but also the slim industry. Although I may not always agree with them, they always have good, concise arguments for every opinion they have. If you want to hear two honest people talk about film this is the podcast for you.

Adam In particular focuses at times on score and cinematography areas that are often overlooked in other peoples analysis. Goldberg is funny, sarcastic and insightful particularly when it comes to the business aspects of the industry. As a film and television geek myself, there's nothing I love more than listening to other people talk in depth about this stuff. I've enjoyed learning new things I didn't know about the film industry and the process of film creation. I tend to see new releases on opening weekend and always look forward to the in-depth review the following week from Matt and Adam.
