This episode sits right up there in the hot-seat category. Just look at the title. Whenever we read the Bible, questions are bound to surface. We try to tackle some of these really hot-seat questions and help you with your understanding of the Word of God. In Luke 14 : 26 Jesus uses some serious words when talking about becoming his disciple. Have you ever read that verse and looked at it again and again, just to see if it was Jesus who actually said it? Once saved always saved. Heard of this before? We touch on the topic of predestination?

This episode might feel like a remix and mashup of stuff but it is actually a series of hot-seat buttons. Whenever we read the Bible, questions are bound to surface. Why did God place the tree in the garden of Eden knowing that Adam and Eve would eat from it? Jesus knew Judas would betray Him, why did He still keep him around? Was Jonah really swallowed by a fish? A real, physical, gigantic fish?

As Christians we often try to understand the spiritual or supernatural. We are body, soul and spirit. But so much of our understanding of the supernatural has been defined and determined by the movies we watch. In this episode, we talk about some of them. When we hear of things such as Gold Dust appearing in a church service – how should we react? Have you ever heard of the Four Blood Moons? Are there ghosts? When people say they see their dead relative’s figure or being, what have they just seen?

This episode is going to be a slightly long one. Through the years we have received many emails asking about stuff that is in the bible and stuff that isn’t. No, your eyes aren’t reading anything wrongly. The internet is full of good and bad stuff. As Christians, we might stumble across some of these comments, posts or websites with regards to the Bible. Why do some Bible translations omit certain verses? Why is there missing scripture? Have you ever heard of The Lost Gospels? Is there such a thing as the Gospel of Thomas? When we read the Bible, how do we know to interpret it correctly?

In this episode we zoom in on all our students. Studying hard and wanting to excel in school can be stressful.  To all our students, we say we love you and we pray for you.  If you are a leader with students under your care, encourage and shepherd them tenderly. If you are a parent, keep your child close and love them unconditionally. If I am not doing so well in school, can I still shine for God? I am a leader in church and I am failing my own exams, can I still lead? Facing exams but feeling stressed, how can we show that God is working in us?

In this episode we talk about some of the biggest issues in society today. It doesn’t matter if you have been a Christian for a long time or you recently just got saved, this is something we have to learn to navigate through. The pressures of life, the setbacks and even the expectations we face in our work and relationships does take a toll on us. What is stress? How do we cope with it? Lonelines, it is a real issue and is there any help? Are you experiencing any form of anxiety today? Know of anyone who is anxious?

As Christians we often find ourselves asking if we can do this? Or is this permissible? What happens if we do that? And many things in life fall under the “grey area” category. This episode we talk all about it. Hypno-therapy, can Christians use it to deal with any physical, behavioural or emotional struggles? Is being part of an office function lucky draw, classified as gambling? Since it is a game of chance, is 4D permissible? Can dating couples go overseas together if they feel it isn’t wrong and that they are mature enough? How do you approach grey areas?

The only constant in life is change. We are constantly changing and growing in every phase of life. We get some of these emails once in a while asking about the various transitions that they are going through. One day you are a university student and next thing you know, you are sitting at your new work desk talking to your boss about KPIs. It happens. But what if in church things aren’t moving quite the same? What if your cellgroup leader still treats you and everyone like youth? What happens when the leader doesn’t transit along? Do you have a friend who is working or studying abroad and they don’t know which is a good church to go to? Would you know how to help them?

We cannot get enough of these emails. Too many. It just feels like we always want to know what or when is the right time for this or that and what to do. This episode is good. It doesn’t matter if you are in the dating phase or you are a parent, you will want to listen to this.  Parents, do you allow your teenager to go on dates? When is a right time for them to have a girlfriend or boyfriend? Can we be with someone from a different church? And is it ok to join a dating event? If we still struggle with certain issues, can we still get attached or married? Shouldn’t we wait until we are fully delivered?

Is singlehood a good or bad thing? And is it pre-destined? Does this mean there is a Mr or Mrs Right for me? Can 2 people of the opposite sex, have an intimate friendship/buddy-buddy closeness and remain purely as friends? If you use a dating app to find your better half, is it considered wrong or of lesser faith?
