Koop Kooper plays a varied mix of: jazz vocals, cocktail piano, tiki bar exotica, breezy bossa nova, and movie soundtracks. I feel honored that Koop has played my albums: Noir, Blue Mood, and Sharing Shearing regularly on his podcasts as well has done personal reviews/interviews for me for COCKTAIL PIANO HOUR series of albums, and my books including THE LOUNGE MUSIC COMPANION and my bios on Les Baxter and Jackie Gleason. I really enjoy the selection of music on these podcasts . Koop‘s voice is dreamy and relaxing... Its a great podcast to just get out of head for a lil while and daydream about swanky lounges and dapper, well dressed men and women, sipping colorful cocktails and dancing and chatting the night away.

After searching for so long for a station that played retro lounge music and for awhile listening to stations that weren’t very satisfactory, but listened to them anyway! I found Koop Cooper, ya! Love listening and I like saying “Koop cooper” in a honey sounding voice.. lol.. love Koop! The music is what I want and listen!!

This is my go to podcast for driving in the car! I dread commuting to work, however listening to the Cocktail Nation makes it all that much cooler. Koop Kooper is the ULTIMATE host and has a wealth of knowledge about lounge life, music, cars, books & film. Regular segments including exclusive interviews, Spy Vibe and Kramer on films makes this show all the better! But it's the most important aspect of this show that makes it shine, THE MUSIC! I have discovered so many new bands on the current lounge scene including Codenme Carter, Nutty and The Martini Kings, I had no idea there was so much new music out there! This show is a MUST for fans of lounge, exotica and tiki music!

My wife and I listen to Koop's show every week. It's a great way to relax after a busy day at work. It provides great music by which to enjoy our dinner and a martini afterwards.

Ive been subsribed for 10 years and really enjoy the show. Koop, the host, always has a light dialog along with a great blend of music. A weekly show to lower the lights and step into a retro lounge swank retreat.

If you love the retro scene, this show is for you. Koop keeps current on all things in the midcentury past. And he has a unique quirky selection of vintage and vintage styled midcentury music. Even though he is in Sydney, Australia he has directed me to lots of cool vintage sites and happenngs here in the US.

Koop Kooper and the Cocktail Nation is a great listen each and every time. Koop plays a great mix of exotica, jazz and swank tunes that always put me in right spirits. Interviews with folks around the world are always engaging and often turn me on to artists I have not yet discovered or downloaded. If you love the mid century modern lifestyle, you will love cocktail nation.
