First described by Charles H. Baker in 1933, this cocktail derives its name
from the rallying cry ginned up by jingoistic newspaper owners trying toget the U.S. to declare war on Spain in 1899. Don't let the violent originsturn you off, this one is worth trying.2 oz. whiskey3/4 oz. sweet vermouth2 tsp.
