Hosts Paige Flannery and David McMillan discuss coral immunity with South Florida experts. University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science PhD students Allyson Demerlis, Grace Snyder, Michael Connelly and Ashley Goncalves in the Cnidarian Immunity Lab are using science to learn how and why certain corals are resisting "bleaching". Their research indicates that a coral's immune system might play a key role in understanding coral resilience, placing this emerging field of study at the forefront of climate science research.
