Hosted by Gretchen Shull (they/them) and Shelby Steele (she/they). In their podcast, Closet Clues, they both sleuth out the history behind identity markers in today’s popular queer culture. They investigate the meaning behind trends, cliches, and everything gay. Together they aim to educate both themselves and their listeners about queer history in a fun and comical way.

For their first case, Shelby Steele (she/they) and Gretchen Shull (they/them) look into why different clothing trends and accessories are seen as queer. They explore the history of fashion in the LGBTQ+ community as a whole and examine they gayness of Doc Martens, queerings, and much more. They also discuss how gender roles affect queer fashion and how the younger generation embraces the subversion of gender roles.
