
Ian McCaw became the Liberty Athletic Director in 2016 and has overseen overwhelming success in his tenure including three straight football bowl wins, three straight NCAA Baseball Regionals, and a national championship appearance for Field Hockey. He has also led Liberty from the Big South to the ASUN, and into Conference USA starting in the Fall of 2023.

Nick Pierce graduated from Liberty in 2007, and has been working full-time at Liberty since 2009. In his time, Pierce has been one of the Liberty Flames Sports Network's biggest contributors as a radio broadcaster. His responsibilities range from being lead baseball radio play by play to football sideline reporter and pregame host to even some basketball play by play.

Kirk Handy is the Liberty Vice President and Athletic Director for Club Sports. A 1999 graduate, Handy played on Liberty's D2 hockey team from 1996-2000 before becoming the head coach of the program soon afterwards. During his tenure, Handy has seen the hockey program make the jump to ACHA division 1 alongside four other hockey teams, and building Club Sports into what we see today.

Carey Green became the head women's basketball coach at Liberty in 1999 and holds that position to this day. He has led the women's basketball team to 14 NCAA tournament appearances including a run to the Sweet 16 in 2005, the farthest any Liberty basketball team (Men's or Women's) has made it into March Madness.

Brant Tolsma was the Liberty track and field and cross country coach from 1986-2020. Tolsma oversaw the program's jump to Division 1 in the late 1980s, and even was responsible for measuring and convincing Dr Falwell to build Liberty's first on-campus track. During Tolsma's time at Liberty, the track and field/cross country programs won 116 conference titles.

Kevin Keys is the current licensing and branding manager for Liberty. He graduated from Liberty in 1977, and was the first paid sports information director Liberty ever had. After leaving for West Virginia in 1985, he returned to Liberty in 2005 and has stayed ever since.
