This week we are joined in BlackBoxStudios by our professor, Dr. Charles, and our TA, Tie who help us to answer some of our unanswered questions from this semester in the classroom and this season of CLIK. We discuss our favorite memories throughout the semester and dive into the reasons behind the class, the episodes that were chosen, and the literature we read.

This week’s episode centers around representations of Black faith and how that impacts the Black family dynamic. These conversations are driven from faith representations in Thea, Good Times, and Black-ish. We also connect these sitcoms to how faith is portrayed in literary texts such as Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun and James Baldwin's If Beale Street Could Talk, which leads us to the question, how are we seeing Black faith impacting family dynamics then and now?

This week’s episode centers around the representations of Black Activism in episodes from A Different World, The Fresh Prince of Bel-air, The Carmichael Show and Black-ish. We use these popular Black American sitcoms to center our conversation around how Black activism is rendered on screen while asking ourselves the question "how have these representations changed?"

This week we explore Black Criminality through Black American sitcoms such as Family Matters, A Different World, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Join in the conversation as we discuss portrayals of Black criminality, how its changed, how it has stayed the same, and how it connects back to 2018 reality.

This weeks episode is centered around the representation of Black women. We discuss colorism, sexuality, and feminism in characters from Living Single, A Different World, and Martin.

In this episode Bri, Jakob, Jiji, Rietta, and Sellers tackle the question of love and how it’s portrayed in the Black sitcom. We discuss the episode on the topic and interrogated the roles and expectations and roles of relationships.

This week's episode, The Family Does Matter, is all about the representations of Black Family Dynamics in the sitcoms we grew up with like The Cosby Show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Living Single. Join Lexie #1, Lexi #2, and Kevin as they discuss the impact of these representations on American culture and what it means to be a family.

This week's episode, Paging Dr. Huxtable, is all about how we go forward as a class learning about Black family sitcoms and as people that grew up with the Huxtables in light of the recent sentencing of Bill Cosby. Join hosts J.Kellz, Rachel, and guests D.J., Jakob, Lexie, and Tieanna as they discuss the impact of The Cosby Show and the social responsibilities that go along with discussing it.

This week's episode, Sistah Sistah, engages with Black feminism and Black women's representations through sitcoms like Moesha, Martin, and the Cosby Show as well as books like Lorraine Hansberry's "A Raisin in the Sun" and Kristal Brent Zook's "Color by Fox."
