With the anniversary of September 11 approaching, we found ourselves feeling especially nostalgic—and a little melancholy—for New York and for the city as we remember it. When we think of Ms. Davis we think of that voice, those eyes, the seductive cigarette smoking, the Champagne and Martinis baby!
