This is one of my MOST requested episodes! I have lost count of the number of times someone has asked me the question: "Amira, how do you afford all this traveling?" In good faith, when someone asks me that question, I think what they are really asking me is "Amira, how can I afford to travel?"
Today, I will share with you a little about how I afford my travels and most importantly, how YOU can afford travel for yourself!
In this episode I...
Begin by breaking down a few myths about traveling (hint: you don't need to come from money or need a lot of money to travel)
Ask listeners to reflect on the 2 most important questions we need to ask ourselves to set our budget for travelling
Complicate the idea of "traveling" to include all experiences (both local and international)
Establish what makes traveling most meaningful (hint: it's not about the places we go to but how we *feel* in the places we visit)
Share my own journey on how I afforded my travels
Explain my top 10 tips for how you can afford travel
You don't need to have a lot of money to travel. Stop creating fear-based myths in your head to talk yourself out of your possibilities. You can travel. You will travel. Become clear about your travel goals. Become tunnel-visioned about how you will achieve it (plan, save, be patient). And soon enough you will be going to your dream places.
It all starts with taking the brave initiative to step out of your comfort zone, becoming serious about your dreams of traveling, and being disciplined about how you will make it happen. The progress might be slow. But it is worth the sacrifice and patience. Allow this episode to instill some hope in your travel dreams. You will achieve it! And once you take that first step, the rest will fall into place at right timing. Trust the process.

When we overshare we are not just acting on our impulses to share. Our impulses are primed by capitalistic greed which has shaped millions of people to build their identity around social media. The longer we stay on these apps the more profit for multi-billion dollar companies. And how do they get us hooked? By making us addicted to oversharing. In this episode I discuss:
Why this is such an important topic for our self-protection
Make sense of oversharing through the lens of corporate profit goals
Explore childhood family dynamics which can explain our impulses to overshare in adulthood
Lead a guided exercise for listeners to intentionally reflect on the people in their lives and who they might need to be careful around when it comes to oversharing!
I want listeners to learn from the mistakes I made. The journey of becoming self-aware and discerning better is lifelong. I hope this episode can provide you some meaningful thoughts to consider as your reflect on your individual habits around oversharing.
