Weird placement of music, no depth to the content, old cases. Boring!

Is this podcast dead?

Content is fine, but the sound effects and music are absolutely terrible. Just remove them, they add nothing and are distracting and annoying. Above was my original review. Changing it to 5 stars as anything that enrages idiotic Trump or DeSatan supporters deserves 5 stars. Well done!

This podcast is not about glitz and glare or humor. The lone host details facts of each case and leaves you feeling like you’ve learned a little about the law and it’s practice along the way.

I was quite dissatisfied with the episode about Stormy Daniels on account of how quickly our host glossed over the details about the 2 court judgements that went against Stormy. You could have given us more information about those decisions but elected not to do so. Why? You don’t like Trump, fine whatever. But trying to make this former harlot out to be like the new Joan of Arc is ridiculous. She is no victim, what she is, is accountable. And she is by no means a better person than Trump. And before you think it, no, I back DeSantis 100.

Decent podcast but tries so hard to be woke. I should have learned my lesson with court junkie…

When will you do an episode on the Obiden family corruption?? Seems fair!!

I have no idea about what “woke” episodes all the other reviews are talking about. I look forward to new episodes coming out!! I love court junkie and civil. They are hands down my preferred podcasts to listen to! ****The music transitions that started on the lawyer episode were horribly timed and and distracting****

I have a hard time getting through the episodes bc the story telling isn’t very compelling. But I like the content. Great concept, but it’s missing something I can’t quite put my finger on

The way she tells the story and how the story is organized makes this offshoot of Court Junkie my next favorite podcast.

Not so subtle wokeness.

This show is really interesting and touches on cases usually not related to m*rder. So if you need a true crime palette cleanser, this is it! Right now it has a weird upload schedule so it’s best to subscribe so you don’t miss it.

The cases are not interesting. I thought they would be. Same old same old. And way too woke. Can’t stand it.

I used to sub to the Court Junkie Patreon and stopped when it felt like the cases chosen had an agenda. I didn’t want to give up on Civil, but I couldn’t even finish the last episode. If you listen to podcasts as an escape from politics and dislike surreptitiously being fed an agenda, this pod isn’t for you.

What the heck is the release schedule? Feels like episodes are released really irregularly. Would love this to be a weekly or biweekly podcast.

Sickened my your lies

I really enjoy these deep dives into civil trials. Wouldn’t hurt to run the show past an experienced civil lawyer first though.

Civil is so well researched and presented that even court cases I would otherwise be disinterested in, I could listen to twice! The production, editing and the narration by Jillian is top notch. I appreciate that it’s not all about random violent crimes and instead has focus on pop-culture, policy change and more strange cases usually unheard of. My only complaint would be that there is not more episodes coming out at a regular pace, but hoping that changes as the show progresses.

Love Crime Junkie but this podcast does not have the rhythm & content. Could be great, keep going!

CIVIL has quickly become a must listen. I check nearly every week day to see if a new one has dropped. Fantastic.

Service level storytelling without any depth. No discussion of causes of action, legal arguments, or really anything about the law. Relies too much on depositions

The episodes are interesting but not enough detail. The episode about the principle only really talked about 2/3 of the victims. And the episodes about the highway shooter spent only 2 min on the trial. Just overall a step down in detail and exertion from court junky

I love court junkie and this is just as good. I wish there were a 100 more episodes. Binge worthy

I’ve been ensorcelled by Court Junkie ever since I found it ~2 years ago. The creation of this civil component completes Jillian’s court podcasting ensemble. Highly recommended.

Excellent episodes so far. Don’t be fooled by the low ratings. The low ratings are from before the show premiered and people were being impatient. The host had personal issues going on that delayed the start, which is very understandable. Just as high quality as Court Junkie and has a very similar style. Can’t wait for more!

Civil is just as good as Court Junkie, only thing I would change is to lose the sound effects. The content needs no assistance.

Love court junkie and love this one too. The host is a great storyteller. 5 stars. However, definitely not a fan of the sound effects, I feel like they take away from the seriousness and credibility.
