Personal politics over GOT
I don’t mind negative outlooks in a show that isn’t holding up to its nature or character arcs. But bombarding us with personal politics to curve the nature towards your political view is not any better either.

Great second thoughts on GoT
If you are smart, you like to read, and you enjoy criticizing what you love with intelligent arguments, you’ll love this podcast.

This show is neat
Love it, great context when it must, great fun when it can.

Rabbinical discourse with a feminist flavor.
If you like your GoT commentary pithy and discursive instead of fangirlish and gossipy, this podcast is for you. They are connecting characters and events in the series (which is fictional) to current political events and trends (which are real), and calling out misogynist/ableist/racist tropes where they view them in the series. There actually is a fair amount of gossip too, which is fun. (More gossip please guys!) Ackerman and Hudson riff off each other and at times push each other to deepen the analysis. If you like yelling at your podcasts as much as you yell at the screen during the show, this is for you! Solid A.

Thoughtful reviews
I can’t honestly but in to all the hosts’ correlations from GoT to issues today. But this is a consistently intelligent and thoughtful podcast

Awful
I listen to tons of GoT podcasts some negative about aspects of the show and some positive - mostly . This podcast takes it to a different level. They spent 37 minutes tearing apart the show and talking about how much they hated an episode and the characters in it. When asked if there was anything he liked about the show one of the speakers said there was a single good aspect of the show. Why do you have a podcast if you can find one good thing about this show.

Negative to the point of being unlistenable
Ugh. Just ... ugh.

While I enjoy the way they articulate their opinions and agree with some their criticisms regarding some of the story choices the writers have made. On certain matter Their criticism on some of the character decisions does seem somewhat limited in terms of perspective or the complete context for an overall character arc, even though they present themselves as if they are taking all of this into account.

Some interesting themes, but overly critical
Why are they so nitpicky? I prefer other podcasts like Oyster Clams and Cockles. I truly don’t understand why they were so critical of Arya in the library scene in season 8 episode 3. She had a concussion, give her a break!

Sexist
You hold daeny to a MUCH higher standard than anyone else. Crucifying her for leading the Dothraki to their deaths (even though she didn’t mean to) is wrong. This is living vs. the dead. Why is this any less their fight than it is hers?

S8E3-review was great with the wolves howling
More sound effects. The wolves/dogs howling in the latest review of Season 8-episode 3 made me laugh. Added to the comments of the most exciting episode of the TV series. Huge Arya fan. My heart stopped and started several times when she was fighting, in the crypt and the successfu assasination.

Great Conversations
I feel smarter after listening. Thats always a win.

Pass
This podcast is definitely only here to cash in on the last season. I like trying new GoT podcasts but I don’t think the hosts care about the show because 1/2 of it is freshman level political monologues. No one cares.

Season 8 - Great for far left worldview
Love the concept of this podcast but wish it was more an objective view of the politics and social forces of the show and less a soapbox for hosts to talk about identity and far-left politics in the United States.

Delightfully smart.
These hosts have the best functional vocabulary I’ve ever heard in an on-the-fly conversation. I also really enjoy their tie-ins with current events as examples.

To busy trying to look smart to enjoy the show
The 2 hosts are really into over analyzing GOT to the point they take the fun away. They appear more interested in looking like the smartest guys in the room, but really they are the most tedious. Maybe if they tried to enjoy the ride more, their analysis would be more enjoyable as well.

3 errors in the first 2 minutes, had to turn it off
1. Bran is climbing around watching procession, not Arya 2. The last king of North before Jon wasn't 400 years ago.... It was Robb 3. Called Dany "the rightful king" lol

2 1/2 ⭐️Therapy session or GOT?
Episode 8x1 Hosts have great voices for podcasting and good comradery. I could possibly listen to the podcast again. With that being said, I felt like it was a support group discussing how the episode made the podcasters feel. A lot of climate change comparisons as well. I love the earth and have climate concerns but...really?

So glad I found this one...
Not that it was hard to find, I have been following Spencer as a reader of his work for many years, but this is the best of the GoT podcasts for so many reasons. Not least of which are the insights of Laura Hudson. These two complement each other so nicely. The analogies they make to present day politics, existential threats, and of course, the French Revolution are what keep bringing me back to this show. 5 more weeks till it’s all over, hopefully they will come back for the spinoff series’!

More interesting than the actual show
I love this podcast and relish my Monday mornings again

Great podcast that's both critical and engaged
I really enjoyed the S8 preview episode of this podcast. Most GoT analysis is very plot-focused, or analyses themes though the individual characters. This one takes a more structural view, and the hosts understand that the writers of the books and show exist in the real world and that impacts the politics of the show vis a vis feminism, democracy, justice, etc. The podcast deepened the way I think about these themes in the show + books.

Yay!
So happy Laura and Spencer are back for the final season - it wouldn't be Game of Thrones without them!
