Follower count does not mean much when it comes to making money online. Ok, it means a little bit. You can't sell if no one is around. But you don't need to wait until you have a million followers to sell your services or book speaking engagements. Followers do not automatically equal sales. I have friends who have a million followers and haven't made a dollar online.
