Col. Rajvir Sharma, an infantry officer, served the Indian army for 30 years+ at various locations in India. the line of control and the high altitude areas of J&k and the Indo-Tibet border. He also served at the insurgency areas of Punjab, J&K, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. Since he was passionate about joining the Indian armed forces from a young age he completed his schooling from Rashtriya Military School, Dholpur. His interest in sports was developed as a student by playing hockey, cricket which helped him be a keen learner of sports after becoming an army officer as well, sports such as lawn tennis, squash, badminton, golf.

We journey with Col Rajvir Sharma, a true guardian of our Fauji legacy, whose life has come full circle, from battling on the frontlines to mentoring young defence aspirants. As an infantry officer in the esteemed Jat Regiment, he braved challenges in the then-vulnerable areas of Punjab, J&K, and the northeast. Through inspiring anecdotes of courage and leadership, Col Rajvir showcases the true spirit of a soldier. His profound passion to teach and guide defence aspirants, which began during his service days, led to the establishment of the Future Army Officers Academy with his co-founder, Apurva Sharma, post retirement. In just a couple of years, he has mentored and shaped the lives of over 500 students. Everybody seems to be curious as to what the first day of going to the military training academy is like. Well my first day ended up giving me a friendship which has lasted for 33 years.

I come from a family where my ancestors fought in the 1857 and world war 2. My grandfather was a farmer and my father an AMC JCO. It was a journey which I cherish with the bottom of my heart. 

The year was 1988 and the entire experience involved travelling in a train, having a fever and loose motions. All in all it was a day I would not forget. The interview is called SSB (Service selection board) and only 0.01% end up getting selected. It is hard and even harder when you can not control your bowel movements.

China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a collection of infrastructure projects that are under construction throughout Pakistan since 2013. This has always been a significant project in regards to the Indian borders. But in 2020 it is even more significant after observing the tension between India and China after the Galwan valley incident on June 15, 2020.
