The controversy continues this week as Max and Bird dig into chapters 9 and 10 of Lost Girls, by Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie. The lines of taboo and erotica, of comics and fine art, continue to blur and blend…and the Two Together for the Long Haul disagree about the merits of abstract art and viscerally flowery writing!Chat-Man and Robin is a listener-supported podcast. If you like what we’re doing, and want to help us keep doing it, head over to www.patreon.com/maxpeterson ! Shout-outs on the show, full-length bonus episodes, and so much more!

Max and Bird dig into the first couple of chapters of Drawn to Sex: The Basics, wish that Erika and Matt could have taught their Sex Ed classes, and have one heck of a conversation along the way!
Drawn to Sex: The Basics is 160 pages of sex education comics collected from the Planned Parenthood-sponsored series, Oh Joy Sex Toy! It explores the practical side of sex, from defining just what it IS, to protection, masturbation, and the ins-and-outs of doin’ it. www.drawntosex.com
The Kickstarter ends on May 31st. Donate if you can: CM&R is way behind this comic, and every bit of support helps this and other comics like it get out into the world…and help the rest of us get it on!

Things take a bit of a turn this week as Max and Bird finally reach the chapters that ensured Lost Girls would be one of the most frequently-banned comic books of all time. Find out why such controversy swarms around this book, and exactly what Max and Bird think about one of the most challenging, difficult, and complex issues they've ever discussed.
There's also martinis and tea, and a fun story about the time Max accidentally discovered a sex dungeon as a child. Footage at eleven.
If you like the things we do, and want to hear more (namely, the uproariously fun IT CAME FROM THE SHORT BOX episodes), head over to patreon.com/maxpeterson, where you can find bonus content, get shout-outs on the podcast, and much, much more!

On the main show this week, the sleep-deprived perpetual slumber-partiers gush (both figuratively and literally) over chapters 5 and 6 of Lost Girls. Honestly, at this point we're just waiting for the cleverness and nuance to falter, or for the art to misstep even once.
It just isn't happening.
This book is incredible.
In order to address the ever-expanding run-time of these episodes, I've posted the "IT CAME FROM THE SHORT BOX!" segment over on the Q&F Patreon (for free). In that segment, Bird and I talk Mad Magazine, Tales from the Crypt, and Cracked, and have a grand old time with mint and lime.

Everyone in the world has been watching the wrong Wonder Woman movie. Feminist triumph? Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. Acting tour-de-force across the board? Masterpiece? See above.
There's no way to sum up the praise Bird and Max have for this film. They recommend it unreservedly, to everyone. Beyond that: tune in, Mad Chatters!

By now you know: Wonder Woman was not our favorite movie ever. But we've got a few nice things to say about the flick, and a lot of them are in this second half of our marathon review of what should have been the feminist triumph of the century. Should have been, but fell short, and crashed into the sea.

Okay, okay! We'll talk about Wonder Woman (2017)! In the most-requested film review in the history of the podcast, Max and Bird perch in the ChatCave and ponder upon the perplexing success of the movie that has scores of cinemaphiles slavering.
It's not all bad. The Amazons are great. Themyscira is fun. Chris Pine is funny.
But...the best movie of the year? A Feminist triumph? A masterpiece?
Part 1 of 2.
