Great Podcast For Religious AND Secular Listeners
I found this podcast because of Justin Murphy’s previous work, where he conducted really good interviews with prominent leftists I followed. However, this has become my favorite of all of his stuff on YouTube and other platforms, because of the great show chemistry he and his cohost have in their conversations. While Justin’s approach to religion tends to be very dramatic and imaginative (in good ways), Maron is down-to-earth and does an excellent job breaking down very complex ideas into terms regular people can understand. These opposite approaches to theology make for fascinating exchanges that secular people can enjoy just as much as listeners who are already religious. I hope “Chat for God” sticks around for a long time, as I intend to be a regular listener.

Great Podcast
Love the podcast. A little odd, though, that the new cohost doesn’t necessarily seem to believe that Jesus rose from the dead.

Nice
Sit and watch, instead of running for cover. I am not religious, but I like listening to this. The other Christian podcast I like is Audio Mullet, where cohost Doug demonstrates the same 'death-drive,' as Justin (as the departed invalid would call it) which just means they say whatever they believe to be true. Meanwhile Maran is thoughtful and has an infectious good nature.

Unique, insightful, necessary.
This is an excellent podcast, but anyone reading the reviews already knows that. Maran & Justin - where is the line that separates a desire for something good/healthy from idolatry? Especially curious to hear this discussed in the context of romantic relationships (or the desire for one.) Many young people I know struggle with this. It seems there’s overlap between such idolatry and the incel phenomenon. In my personal experience, these guys aren’t responding to rejection as if it came from humans but as if it came from God.

Glory be to God
This is a deeply loving podcast about God that’s also very funny. It’s thoughtful, unafraid and often strange. It’s the exact podcast the moment calls for imo. Great work Ashley and Justin

Thank you to God
Blessed are You, Lord, our God, King of the Universe, who is good and does good. I’m forever in awe of Ashley and Justin’s ability to tackle controversial and difficult topics. Giving the SW ep a relisten so I can fight OnlyFans-glorifying libfems.

A calming energy
Already a huge fan of this podcast. Goes out of its way to be honest with themselves & transparent. Love the energy in it, and I certainly hope it lasts for years to come.

Only cool Christian podcast
Assuming this is true, in fairness I've never heard and don't suspect to listen to any of the other ones, but this one is cool and good.

Potentially great
This pod has a ton of potential but they are still too outside of it. I get what it’s aspiring to and hoping they can drop the metacommentary. If they can tap in to the vibe of the intro/outro for the duration and have it all in a more ethereal meditative state like the one you’re supposed to be in during mass it could be extremely chill and good and present.

Very Good
Ashley has a rare ability to transmit her relationship to the divine in a transparent and sincere way without being cringe. Evocative, charming, funny, highly perspectively developed. Justin is thoughtful and curious. Very smart boy and an open book. He balances out Ashley in a way that helps keep the pod on-track and engaging. I loved Girls Chat but this is much more positive, healthy, and engaging. I recommend to anyone curious about these things. Even if you don’t care about spirituality, it’s very charming and fun and the God talk is contextualized in a way you won’t get in any other religious podcast.

Call it a comeback
Building on her history of already insightful commentary and beautiful prose, Ashley is back with a brain better than ever. Justin and Ashley are a duo with magnetic rhetorical chemistry and I’m excited to see where they take it from here.

CHRIST AND NOTHING
Ashley Christlover (@christlover2000 on Twitter) from the cult hit podcast Girls Chat is joining up with Justin Murphy, known for interviewing internet dissident thinkers and personalities from all spectrums of politics for a new kind of show about Christianity. Expect great conversations about what Christianity means in a world of neoliberalism, nihilism and hollowed out institutions. This isn't just another polarized culture war show - it will be much deeper than that. Ashley is intelligent, hilarious and has uniquely engaging perspective. Expect great things.
