Chapters is about more than just books. Through interviews with readers, trips to sites where reading happens (i.e., a bookstore!), and bonus episodes on the history and culture of reading, Chapters shares stories of readers that are compelling, funny, and deeply insightful. The conversations that are happening on this podcast are important. They make me reflect on my own reading experiences and ask questions about my childhood and my relationship with books that I want to explore further. Mary's kindness, sense of humor, and genuine curiosity draw out a nuanced portrait of each of her guests and engage her listeners in an exploration of the importance of reading and stories in our lives.

For some, reading is a form of escape, a place to learn, an avenue to expand education or understanding of the human experience, or simply a way to be entertained. Regardless of why one reads, it can be a life changing experience. In Mary Mahoney's podcast entitled Chapters, she brilliantly guides each guest through their personal history of reading. She highlights how reading has changed each guest's life in a significant way. Each episode is well worth listening to.

This podcast is a great way to destress on a commute home. Listening to people share the stories that shaped them is thought-provoking and inspirational. I've added to many books to my "to be read" shelf because of this podcast! Mary interviews these guests with such grace that you'll find yourself pining for more episodes. One of the better podcasts I've listened to lately. It's like Fresh Air if Terry Gross only ever talked about books. Hoping they keep up with the twice a month release and produce more interview episodes.
