In this episode we have Pete, a British military veteran. Having served across the globe including the Kosovo and Iraq campaigns Pete's mental health has had it's fair share of ups and downs.  Suffering specifically with PTSD, Pete opens up about his journey from joining the military at a young age, to when he left and his life since. He speaks openly about his struggles, how they effect him and close family and friends. Shannon from @survivingchildhoodtrauma is back! In the last episode Shannon discussed her abuse growing up until her early 20’s. We pick up from there and go on to discuss how this affected Shannon in her adult life. Including her relationships, her journey as a parent with a child who very bravely came out as a member of the trans gender community, a stint in politics and much more! In this episode we speak with Caitlin, who wishes to keep her identity protected whilst still telling her story. Caitlin speaks of child abuse throughout her early years at the hands of a family member, and subsequent court case some years later convicting him for child sex offences. In a horrifying turn of events the offenders family members defended him, and accused Caitlin of lying even though she had suffered with another party who was the actual person to instigate legal proceedings against him and confirmed everything she had said. This is the first time Caitlin has ever publicly spoken about her abuse since the court case, which was the only other time she has publicly spoken about it. She shows true courage, bravery and strength. What she has been through is nothing short of horrific, but the person she has become is nothing short of amazing. In this episode we speak with Sonia, a PTSD survivor from the hispanic community. She bravely opens up about her childhood which involved sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse and witnessing domestic violence. We talk very openly and discuss certain topics linked to being hispanic and the older sibling of the household. At times Sonia can be heard becoming tearful as she recounts her childhood and the terrible things she suffered.  She is truly a remarkable woman. On the next episode we discuss Sonia's adult life, which involved drug abuse, rape and incarceration.
