Derek continues his story and shares how he settled in Palestine with his wife and 8 adopted daughters. He then became involved in the tumultuous events that led up to the establishment of the state of Israel in May 1948. He was in Jewish Jerusalem on the day, May 14, 1948, when the state of Israel was reborn. He witnessed, first-hand, the war that broke out. He considered it a great honor to witness the most significant fulfillment of biblical prophecy since the first century in the days of Jesus.

The entire history of the Jewish people is one continuing miracle. The most dramatic thing about that miracle is that all its significant details were predicted in the bible before they ever took place. Israel of the Jewish people is the only nation whose whole history was written in advance. The Jewish people were the founders of the Christian church.
