So much fun.
I adore this podcast! I always wanted to listen to the old radio programs but had no idea how many there were before I stumbled onto this podcast. Now I’m hooked for life! It’s my favorite thing to have on in the background when I’m painting.

Great for road trips
The host selects two great episodes to put together every time. Appreciate that these treasures are easily accessible by podcast to introduce to my kids.

The intros
Hate the self promoting intros to Every show . These old shows are public domain. You can find ALL of them on archive.org. They take them and then try to sell them and use every episode to advertise. Lame .

Top notch old school crime dramas
What a brilliant idea to bring these retro radio dramas to the podcast world. A second life for golden age radio. Very well done, exciting, suspenseful stories. Highly recommended to all.

Love it!
As a huge fan of classic radio, this podcast is beyond awesome to me. It's introduced me to some I hadn't heard before & lets me listen to favorites again. The programs are great but I must admit I do get an extra kick out of the commercials-they are so bad they're good!

Stands out among classic radio podcasts
Pairing two shows together works really well and the introductions are always informative. Nice work.

Nicely Done!
The audio quality of episodes is consistently good, and the host keeps his intros (of each episode) short and simple. Definitely worth subscribing to (as is the host's other podcast, "Relic Radio")

Excellent Resource!
Raised by my grandfather who was blind and who subsequently had audio entertainment delivered to the house, I grew up listening to all the OTR shows that he had enjoyed when he was younger. I was thrilled in recent years to come across the vast selection curated here by Relic Radio. While I enjoy all of the different shows, Case Closed is my favorite. I've always had a particular affinity for the old detective stories, and I get a kick out of listening to procedurals from 70 years ago. If you're new to the genre, I highly recommend seeking episodes featuring Sam Spade or Richard Diamond, as they're just good pulpy fun with hilarious dialogue and all of the noir tropes we've come to know and love.

SUPERB!!!!!!
Great, riveting who done it mysteries back from when late night radio was awesome! Thank you for bringing this back into my life!

Just exactly what I wanted, delivered to my home for free!
Could it get any better than this? Mysteries that are acted out for us, and really good stories and actors, for the most part. My motto, for years, has been that the 3 best things about the 20th century were: Radio, Hot Showers, and Velcro. (Bring it, if you disagree!) (Microwave ovens and cell phones are in hot contention, but I wrote this a long time ago, when I was a sailor and mom to a tiny person). I LOVE old time radio, because the pictures are so much better than tv or movies. Rock on!

I'm glad I found this podcast!
I stumbled across Relic Radio some while back, and I've been slowly adding more and more of the shows to my podcast library. I held off on Case Closed for a while, thinking it would be little more than cheesy serials about over-the-top detectives. I'm really glad I changed my mind. Wow, these are some really fine stories. And sure, some of them are silly and campy, but most are solid detective stories (and even the silly ones are worth a listen). I hope to hear many more from this podcast.

Why did they stop Radio Shows?
These are great. My Flatscreen fried from the inside so I needed some form of entertainment when I was laying down to sleep. Decided to try these and they are great. I love the sci-fi and Case Closed shows.Casey Crime Photographer and The Saint are my favorites.More Vincent Price PLEASE! I want as many Saint episodes as possible.

Great format
I like the format of the show. I've listened to all that I could download. It's always interesting to see what interesting pairings we'll get each week. The sound quality is good.

Yes,I agree this is the best format of OTR's. I have been a fan for years. The C.C. Series always put's out as good a copy and as clear a copy as Possible Thanking you, thanks. I love old time radio shows mostly for the writing, the acting(generally), But I love the time of half hour. The shows are like short stories. I could go on but won't. Please, keep up the good work. Angie Bell PS thanks for no commercial

Love this podcast
I'm such a fan of OTR crime shows, and the format of this podcast makes it even better. The believe it or not segment is a great interlude too!

Always a new old gem to discover
This series is as well put together as The Horror! -- if the host has any bias, it's hard to find. Thank you for finding Barrie Craig... I used to see William Gargan (sp?) in anti-smoking ads as a kid and hearing him in his acting prime brings some sort of karmic relief. Candy Matson is like the Rosie the Riveter of private eyes. Three cheers for all Jim does to bring us these unique treasures from yesteryear.

Great!
These OTR detective stories are just great. They take me back to a wonderful time in my life and I always loved talk radio. These episodes are very diverse so I get to hear all of the old time detectives. Not so much mayhem as todays tv detectives, love the plots especially Johnny Dollar, Nero Wolf, and Rocky Jordan. Thanks to all those that have made this possible
Tortola Calling
One of my favorite podcasts!
I wasn't around for the glory days of OTR, but Case Closed still manages to give me a sense of nostalgia for the time period. Great material, well handled without a lot of additional fluff!

The Best OTR Podcast on the Web. PERIOD.
A fantastic podcast with equally fantastic shows. Thanks RelicRadio!

The host is hot
I love the host of this and the other Relic Radio programs ;) But, besides that, I NEVER thought I would get into the detective dramas (outside of Sam Spade, of course), but this podcast has be hooked! I get all giddy whenever I see a new one on my board. Thank you for compiling such a great collection and for not having the annoying voice and advertisments of the other well-known vintage radio podcastser. xo

A Great Podcast for old time radio fans!
A great selection of shows with introductions kept short and to the point! I enjoy the Ripleys and think the host has the perfect tone in keeping with the shows. My only complaint is that I haven't been able to download all the old episodes of this Podcast (a technical problem perhaps?). I will be a subscriber as long as they are produced!

Great Discovery!!
I've been listening to these RelicRadio adventures and really enjoy them. Generally good sound quality, short intros, and fine selection of old shows.

Love these podcasts!!!
I started listening to Sherlock Holmes on CDs some time ago and got hooked on listening to mysteries on my pod when I got it. Now I can't wait for new stories to download. I listen more to these stories than I watch TV. It's a great way to relax. Thanks for all the work you do in keeping these stories coming!

I love these podcasts....
Way back when I use to have a hard time finding cassett tapes and then cd's of old time radio shows. Now I can go online and find them. Thanks for the OTR podcasts, they are much appreciated. I also love the guy on Relic Radio.

Case Closed!
A top notch podcast with all the famous detectives of yesteryear. It is from the Relic Radio guy, not Podango.
parrotfeathers
This is the best of all the OTR Podcasts I have listened to.
I think having two to listen to is great. His introductions are short and to the point and very informative. I'm wondering if he does Relic Radio too. It is also great.

There ought to be more Podcasts like this
This is a marvelous podcast refreshing some of the golden days of radio drama. There is some quaintness in the styling from the era that put a wry smile on my face. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is due to the packaging: 2 shows in each episode makes a 60 minute sitting, which is a difficult amount of time to carve out of my day. Personally, I'd prefer to have 1 show per episode delivered twice as frequently. Thanks! Jonathan

Case Closed Delivers Sam Spade!
Podango’s Case Closed is a real gift. If you love classic radio, this podcast delivers one of the best detective shows ever produced - “The Adventures Of Sam Spade” created by Daschle Hammett. These mysteries are not unlike a TV counterpart, “The Rockford Files.” Like Rockford, “The Adventures Of Sam Spade” delivers great characters, mystery, action and plot twists. Thank you Case Closed!
