We all have finite cognitive resources - which is just a fancy term for saying that we only have the energy to make a certain number of decisions and once they are made, we get exhausted and overwhelmed if we have to make more decisions. This is one of the reasons it is so important that we get really good at making the right decisions. We look at how the ideal of the perfect mother (which is an illusion!) informs our ideas about the decisions we must make and we talk about how we can break free of these expectations. This episode also covers envy and jealousy (and yes there is a difference between them) and how they can each help us make better decisions in the future.Sources:Mel Robbins: The High 5 Habit (chapter 8 on jealousy)Mel Robbin on envy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS_Lu5IIFBIHella Joof: Papmachereglen (unfortunately only in Danish for now)Roman Krznaric: Carpe Diem RegainedDonald Miller: Hero on a MissionThank you for listening!
