Best car review podcast in the USA !
Been listening to the Consumer guide car podcast since early 2020. Both hosts bring their respective expertise to the table. One suggestion would be since Tom is a car classic fan, to hit up an interview with the regional car museums. Granted this is podcast does not have a video stream option, would still be nice to hear about the many regional car museums, especially since the weather is breaking and day / weekend trips would be a good way to check them out, thanks !

A Great Podcast to Learn About Cars
I’ve been listening to the podcast for the past three years and have really enjoyed learning about the latest car models, industry trends, and prior automotive history while enjoying the humor and fun side of the hosts. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in the car industry!

Smart, Fun Car Talk
It’s easy to recommend this show. First, never feels like a lecture. Second, listening to Tom and Jill is like talking to your friends about cars. It’s an added bonus that these friends happen to know a lot about cars. Give it a listen!

This is the one you want
I don’t have a lot of time each week to devote to listening to podcasts of any kind but when it comes to automotive topics this one is worth it. Topics are always interesting and, well, topical. Tom and Jill always keep it entertaining as well.

Best car podcast around! Great way to spend a Sunday.
I’m frankly not sure how I found the consumer guide automotive “car stuff podcast.” Consumer guide was something I saw around as a kid in the late 80s and 90, but I liked reading car & driver, motor trend and even the “boring” consumer reports car issues and don’t recall the guide much.
Anyway co-host Tom Appel is a legend, and a jovial one at that! Hello Co-host Jill Ciminello (hope I got the spelling right) brings an “elder millennial” perspective to the show; which I appreciate as I too am of that demographic. I’d be remiss to say her many years in the auto journalism space are something I really respect and admire.
In that time, I sold VW for 3 months of a frigid Upstate NY winter. I also worked for a major car manufacturer’s customer service office in the northeast. It can be a tough industry.
And no, her voice is not annoying!
Guys, this is my comfort show. I almost always listen on Saturdays or sundays when I’m taking a shower, or going for a walk. it’s similar to how Elaine Benes said she watched “60 minutes” to wind down from the weekend.
Tom’s smooth baritone is radio gold. I want to fly from CO to Chicago, and drive out to spunky dunkers in Palatine. My buddy in Mt. Prospect vouches for it too. This is a bucket list item, along with that auto museum in boyertown, PA.
To get to the real point: in a podcast space full of political shows, true crime, and investing/financial content (all 3 are certainly intertwined topics these days), “the car stuff podcast” is light, entertaining, informative, and just plain FUN. isn’t that what life is supposed to be about sometimes?
I can’t recommend this show enough if you want to relax and enjoy 2 nice midwestern folks banter, laugh, educate and inform us about all things automotive - and overseas fast food options.
10/10 highly recommend.

Fun and cars
Enjoy the car reviews, stats, and trivia. The interaction is enough to make a Swede jump for joy and a SoCal resident to tune in daily.

Please spend more time on research
I get this is maybe not your core demographic, but if you’re going to review a more niche car (recent example being the BRZ), please spend 5-minutes going over the spec sheet before recording the podcast. This seemed like miss.

Worth a listen
Not a car person but pretty funny. Tom is great, and the guests are usually too. Jill well...

Informative, Entertaining
Clear, concise, often humorous insights for those of us who are neither car buff nor auto industry aficionado. Love the quizzes

Delusional
This is a completely unhinged podcast. The one host, Jill, is a lunatic. Apparently getting jack jacked in the crime ridden city of Chicago grants you the clearance to “report” on cars.

Disappointed
Stopped subscribing after the most recent one. No one is perfect. But please have some respects of the countries and their languages/cultures where the cars are made and designed. They make what we all love (cars) unique and enjoyable. The hosts completely miss that point and for any car enthusiast, that is nothing but disappointing. And please do not say we were just kidding.

Him Good. Her, ummm
Tom is comfortably soothing in his delivery and always informative. After years of listening to him on WGN, have been enjoying this. Jill, although I have tried to love her, has a voice and ticks that are like nails on a chalkboard. She’s super knowledgeable but her delivery needs helps. Fun Game: take a shot of whiskey every time she says “OK” and be prepared to be drunk quickly.

My favorite weekly car podcast — by far
Very entertaining (at times quite humorous) and informative car podcast for regular mainstream car lovers. Tom and Jill have great banter. Not too industry hardcore, yet you always learn something from each show. An easy listen.

Used EV Prices?
I listened to your latest podcast on used EV prices, how they’re dropping, and how people shouldn’t be concerned.
I think you’re missing the point. You say that there’s a good warranty, which is true. You say batteries won’t deplete to 10%, which seems a little off. The fact is, whether they drop to 10% or not, they’ll need to be replaced eventually.
Perhaps you’re even misleading people by saying we shouldn’t worry about buying a used EV. The fact is, eventually, whoever owns it after 100,000 miles is going to be stuck with a battery replacement bill that could be as large as the value of the car itself. Are people going to buy a new battery? Or are cars going to get parked? This is why EV used car prices are dropping. In fact, probably the only reason.
I would gladly buy a new EV. I love the gas savings and the tech. I’d buy one with few miles. But being someone who runs a car for a long time, I wouldn’t buy one with less than 50% battery life left.

Informative and fun!
Started listening about a year ago and I'm now a loyal listener!
I find the show to be topical, timely, informative, and entertaining, but also fun, warm, casual, and funny! It's clear the hosts have known each other a long time and have good chemistry.
Every week, there is a guest who is an authority in the automotive industry. They always have interesting insights and fascinating information that you can’t find elsewhere.
Plus, the quizzes at the end provide audience engagement on the auto industry, and the bonus question always brings Tom’s signature comedic style.
Overall, this podcast is a good time that’s loaded with substance. Five stars!

Love Tom and the other two amigos.
This is the highlight of my Friday night. (How'd THAT happen!?)... Damon has the most impressive life away from cars, at least by all the things Tom notes in the opening minutes. Keep it up guys. I love the trivia, the games, the comraderie. I wish I was your friend.

Local Chicago area content, but still great automotive information
Tom Appel’s well prepared podcast puts voices to the ConsumerGuide Automotive website authors and their daily social media content. He and his panelists/guests include just the right amount of lighthearted banter and trivia, making the “car stuff” easy to digest.

My new favorite automotive podcast!
Smart people discussing all kinds of automotive topics, including electric cars, the auto industry, history, a wide range of guests, and regular folks reviewing the kinds of new cars you're actually likely to buy.
