Normally we release a podcast every two weeks, but recently we, as a family business, have been mourning the murder of George Floyd as well as all of the other people whose lives have been unjustly taken by those who were supposed to protect them. Instead of our normal podcast, for the following ten minutes, I will be reading the names of unarmed black individuals that were killed during interactions with the police. I will leave space for you to repeat their names out loud and I ask that you do that as you listen. These are real people who had lives, families, lovers, ambitions, hopes, prayers, souls, and hobbies, just like all of us. Please give them the respect they deserve. "If your first instinct is to turn this off, please don’t choose the easy route, come sit with me. If your first instinct is to say “what about… “ fill in the blank… the good police, white people who have been killed or any other group please know that we highlight these names, these lives, as a way to bring to light people who have not historically had a voice."
