Fall Conference Poem
Across the Miami Valley we are asking ourselves, "Where do we go from here?" All I can say is that we must strive to stay connected and regain bonds that have been broken. This poem is a first attempt to voice this idea.

Barbara Battin
A few days ago, Rev. Dr. Barbara Battin passed away. This is a recording of powerful, necessary words she shared at the Unite Against Hate gathering at a local mosque this past March. I am forever grateful that my path crossed hers. What an amazing human being.

Poet Shahid Raki
Shahid Raki has been writing for decades. He is reading in the Triangle Gallery at Sinclair. This work was originally written in 1973. We coupled it with Sun Ra. Raki was a Sinclair student in the early 70's and he shared many stories with our African American Literature class about his artistic endeavors around that time.
