Let me start by saying I’ve NEVER written a review for a podcast. I’ve listened to podcasts for almost 8 years and have never written on one. This is the one! I’m blown away! We have paid therapists and tried medication and pray continuously for our kids. This podcast is the most straight foreword, tangibly helpful, inclusive and inspiring parenting podcasts I’ve ever listened to. We are purchasing the full plan without a doubt!

My husband and I are grateful to have discovered your podcast. We listened to a few episodes when we got away for a weekend and we felt understood, less guilty, motivated, and we felt encouraged that we were already implementing some things so we weren’t completely off base. We’ve already put some tips into practice since returning a week ago and they’ve been 100% successful every time. Mind blowing. Thank you for your help. We will continue to listen for more!

Life and Family Changing!!!

My brain is being re-wired with each podcast. Immediate, practical, down to earth insight and advice. Kirk is a straight shooter who also is humble! I cannot say enough great things about this podcast and how much it has helped my family, especially a son that has a disability. Thank you!!!!

This podcast has changed the way our house operates. I was too soft before. Not enough boundaries and eventually I’d flip to the other extreme and lose my temper. It wasn’t working for anyone. Kirk has taught me how to lovingly put my foot down when needed. Every episode leaves me with an aha that I use in real life. Thank you, Kirk, for all the help.

Love this podcast. Very practical and straight-forward. I don’t understand why the reviewer on Feb 10,2024 thinks he “picks on” homeschoolers. That listener must not realize Kirk speaks at homeschool conventions and has been a guest on homeschool podcasts, and was a homeschooler himself. Previous episodes from early 23/24 school year were even specifically about this and completely resonated with me as a homeschooling mom myself.

Super great podcast!!! Please don't pick on homeschoolers though. we are definitely not all the same, just like public schoolers aren't...and we are doing the best we can🤣

We found Kirk at a homeschool convention and it was by far the best experience there. We have not one but 3 strong willed kids 16-8 and over the years we have leaned so much and continue to grow and apply as much as we learn. This is such fundamental parenting no tricks or long books just straight real world examples on how to best connect with your kids for a healthy, loving long lasting relationship. We think we need to change our kids but a lot of it is inner work and how we see our strong willed children, so we can find the best approach for building a strong respectful relationship between family. So so worth every minute!

No book, no counseling, no “friendly advice” helped with our strong-willed child until we found Kirk’s program and this podcast.

This podcast has literally changed my parenting and my relationship with my “strong-willed” child. It has helped me to understand my child better and to understand how best to discipline him. The best part is…IT WORKS! Everything he says is SPOT ON for parenting a child with ADHD. While all of this is great, his podcast has made me realize that I am actually a great parent, I just didn’t know the best ways to parent him. I’m a teacher and I use his strategies with my students with much success as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your gifts and wisdom with the world❤️

I love the way that Kirk never puts parents down, but instead gives advice that can easily be applied to real life advice. I chuckle out loud while listening to the podcast because nearly every episode he monologues a scenario between a strong-willed child and their parent and it’s as though he’s been a fly on the wall in my own home! This podcast has helped me so much and encouraged me to focus on getting through the trying times (in a calm manner). Thanks a million, Kirk!

I listen to several parenting podcasts just to renew my mom heart. This podcast is my favorite for practical, real situation, advice. I love how he says “expect this behavior” and “stop being so shocked!” but he actually helps us with how to do that. I have even emailed them several times and they respond so quickly. I recommend this podcast to every parent I know.

No nonsense- Kirk jumps right into the topic and I really appreciate his efficiency! He gives scripts along with his explanations which I find especially helpful. Five stars. Highly recommend.

Kirk is straightforward and realistic, but what I appreciate most is that he is encouraging and positive and wants you to enjoy your kids, which is just so helpful. This show is fantastic. I can see how this would work on most children. Other parenting podcasts are so enervating and out of touch — an unachievable standard for the parent. What I love most about this podcast is that the host sides with the child, normalizes child behavior that might worry adults (love the “it would be weird if…” formulations and the “of course he or she is doing to…. He’s a kid!!!!”) and offers really good lines and scripts that he rehearses so that they are more likely to stick. He understands child psychology and what makes kids tick. I feel that other podcasts adhere to one parenting philosophy or another and the end goal becomes filtering every issue through that lens. Please keep them coming and thank you.

I need to start leaving reviews more, I remembered this one because of Kirk’s Son, Casey. I have been listening for a good amount of time that I feel I can give an honest, genuine review. I will start by sharing that I am a mom of 3, ages 4, 5, and 9 two of which have special needs so needless to say I have my hands full. I have tried so many books, podcasts, webinars, conferences, and complete parenting programs. The amount of time I spend you would probably think I’m doing pretty good at being a mom…. Unfortunately I don’t think I will ever be educated enough. Recently I realized that I needed to start writing down all the courses and programs I was in because I was getting confused with what was what, and basically just overwhelmed. I was also spending way too much money, after every mini conference or multi day conference there would be a program to join and I felt I had to try each one. Originally I just listened to the podcasts by Kirk, then I listened to what he always suggests and I reached out to his son Casey, i explained my situation to him and he gave me some suggestions on the courses he felt I should start with and to be honest I felt I needed them all. He gave great recommendations!! I knew I couldn’t afford them all so I explained that and he offered me a suggestion that worked. I started listening immediately and right away I was taking notes and I was laughing out loud while listening 🤣 I realized I didn’t get one of the courses that I really wanted, so I reached out to Casey again and within a couple hours the program was added to my account!!! This family is amazing, they really want to help. It’s not just about covering costs to them. If you have a strong willed child you need to listen to how Kitk describes one. I couldn’t believe how accurate it was or how hard I laughed. Thank you!!

I’m only 1/2 way through the first episode and I can already tell I have found the help I need. I literally think I am going through exactly what he did when his son was young with my son now. I don’t know how else to say thank you!!

Love this podcast. It’s seriously helping change my mindset about raising my awesome strong willed child. The only thing I would change is the length. I wish it was a little longer because sometimes I feel like it’s barely long enough and I’d like him to go a little deeper explaining things

I have listened to A LOT of books, podcast, YouTube channels, etc about how to parent my high-needs child who is on the spectrum. This podcast has helped the most bc it’s not a bunch of clinical jargon or assume you are a mental health professional. Kirk not only has great info but it you listen consistently, even if the topic doesn’t apply to your exact situation, his energy and positivity will put you in a good mindset especially on those days when you are feeling hopeless…it has helped me repair our relationship!!

Kirk has a way with words and really telling you off. Encouraging and inspiring. I don’t have a difficult child... I am the difficult child. Great reminders on how to be a better person and parent

This guy is real, blunt, honest, vulnerable, and down to earth. His wisdom and understanding comes from his own experience, learning from his own mistakes. I can really relate to him because I see myself making the same mistakes. Parenting is a LOT of hard work and I sometimes get discouraged. Kirk gives me the hope and inspiration that my relationships with my kids really can get better even if my kids are out of control. He gives me the encouragement, motivation, and knowledge I need to make the necessary changes. That is why I keep coming back for more: these are the tools for success.

This is the best parenting podcast I have found. It's not just the advice, which is practical and excellent, but it's the attitude that comes with it--it's a message of grace. Grace for parents, grace for kids. Thank you so much.

Man this information is so good, I think you need to write a book Kirk. I love the CD’s, I love the podcast, but give the people another medium.

Ok, so by the grace of God I happened upon your podcast on an especially hard day of parenting. I’ve listened to episodes here and there because, honestly, I would forget that this wasn't the same kind of “woo-woo” parenting podcast as all of the others; you know, the ones that don’t actually give you any helpful information and leave you feeling like even crappier of a parent. What brought me here to the review section was Season 2, Episode 21- in that 20 minutes I laughed, I cried and I felt my soul release all the stress of feeling like an awful mom. I truly felt every moment of that podcast. Thank you for your insight and for always being “real”. Can’t wait to make listening to this more of a constant in my daily routine.
