We continuously fall for their trap. We buy things we don't need, get rid of things that are still good and replace them with more useless items. We get trapped in the cycle that corporate America wants us to be in so we are constantly indebted to them, but yet we complain as if it is their fault that we can't get out of debt, can't buy a house or save our money.
Proverbs 30:7-9 7 Two things I ask of you, LORD; do not refuse me before I die: 8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches but give me only my daily bread. 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, "Who is the LORD?" or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. God tells us time and time again that he will provide what we need, because he knows what we need. We are to be good stewards of the daily bread that he provides. That means that we need to take a closer look into the things that we spend our money on if we are unable to save, pay our bills or get out of debt.
I understand that I do not have a job at the moment, I am resting in my God given job of being a mother instead of running the rat race that corporate America tells me I have to run in order to be successful or feel accomplished. Boy let me tell you, I wish I stopped believing their lies a long time ago. I wish I would have focused on the God instead of my selfish desires to continuously want more. I could have bought 3 houses by now.
The great news is that it is never too late to start trusting in God to provide. He already is providing he is just waiting for you to focus on the things he is providing for and not on the things your sinful heart desires. Open your bible, invest in your God. Stop investing in the fleeting things of this world. I promise you won't regret it. Say goodbye to their lies and live in God's truth today!

When God calls us, he will pursue us to the ends of the earth. God knows that we have doubts and weaknesses, but he isn't relying on us to make things happen; HE has already made a way! Trusting God when he calls us is not as simple as it sounds. As we see with Moses, he is only thinking about his abilities and not God's.
Excuse after excuse, Moses tries to pass the job off to someone else, but God chose Moses, and he doesn't let him off the hook. Instead, God provides a way.
I pray that we see that we can step out in faith and fully trust that GOD will carry us through the task that HE has set ahead of us, so that we will bring HIM glory through our faith.

If you would like to dive deeper into this study, be sure to ready Exodus Chapters 3 & 4. Versus that were paraphrases Exodus 3:11-14 & 4:10-13 (see below, NIV verses)
EXODUS 3:11-14
11But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” 12And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” 13Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” 14God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ”
EXODUS 4:10-13 10Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” 13But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”

I have had so many mixed emotions while watching the Nikolas Cruz trial unfold. I constantly have to push back against my pride, because like many others I want "justice" for the victims, but I often forget that justice is not mine to serve. We must lay down our hurts at God's feet at trust that he is sovereign over the pain and suffering that this individual caused. I invite you to listen with an open mind and put yourself in the juror's shoes as you think about how you would vote on another's life.
